Forums - Nintendo - nintendo the gap widens

hell the past few  years the only nintendo games i played were 4 player splitscreens, i was planning to get a wii u with mk8 but I didn't. noone of my group is willing to play with different controllers, due to "unfair" advantages. I blame the gamepad.

well........get 4 pro controllers and just leave the gamepad on :P

just use classic or wiimotes

Mehh What me and my friends do is label the gamepad as the special needs controller for MK8... In other words, who ever loses gets to use the gamepad and be labeled as the pussy that isn't skilled enough to use the real mens controller!

Those who have played with the Pro Controller say that it's their favorite way to play Mario Kart 8. Heck, I've seen a few folks who swear by the WiiMote/Nunchuck combo.

Plus, the Pro controller lasts ~40 hours while the Pad lasts ~3. So there's a big advantage there.

I have a question: do you need the gamepad to play? Does it even need to be on?

No.  And, the only advantage it possesses over a Pro Controller is the the ability to view a map, which can be turned off.  Sounds like TC and his friends need to stop being so whiny.

Why not just let each player choose what controller they want to use?

You make no sense.
