I've had a not so great experience with Kickstarter, so I haven't backed anything in a while. This, however, might change things even though I was hoping it'd come to vita.

What happened?

I backed a game for vita last January and they said that it would come out in March (2013). Let's just say that all I've been hearing from them is excuses. For over a year. Last update was a few months ago so they've probably given up on it. The updates were also quite annoying. "We're sorry blah blah blah, here's a song from the soundtrack of the game, which is a song by this band which no one has heard of just like us". Er ok...

Quite disappointing cuz the point was to have an rpg for vita when there was nothing available for it. Also, there is no way to claim my money back. I don't see how it is possible that they can expect to release a game in 2-3 months (meaning it's almost ready) and keep coming up with excuses a year later. "It's the engine". "Unite is great so we scraped evrything and started all over again". "X person quit and we had to replace her" etc...

You can't refund your money saying it looks like a scam?

It's not really a scam though. Here's an interview of the creator (that was from his last update in March). http://www.vnsnow.com/archive/march-interview-bishop-myers

And even if it was, I backed it over a year ago, so I don't know if I'd still be able to ask for a refund.

Without meaning to step on your toes because I understand how frustrating it must be:

This Kickstarter looks significantly more fleshed out than the one you backed, which was kinda lacking on the pitch page.  Whereas this one has media and videos everywhere; plenty of information etc. etc.

I'd have said this one was a safer bet, but ultimately you always take a gamble when you back something like this I suppose.

Someone call Adam. He needs to chip in those last few peanuts.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Oh don't get me wrong. I completely agree with you. It just left a bad taste in my mouth. That's all.

If it is close to a PS4 or Vita version I'd be happy to get it.

From the kickstarter page:

"Will the game be released on PS Vita?
Unfortunately, we do not plan to release Shiness on PS Vita.

Will the game be released on Wii-U?
We are actually waiting for a positive answer from Nintendo ; right now we are subscribing to their development program.

So it seems to be Wii U before Vita.

Anyone know how it works with UE3 and UE4 porting to PS4 and Vita?

More from the kickstarter page:

"We will need some extra help to port the game on PlayStation 4; Moreover, we’ll have to pay for the development kit (around 2 500$). Unreal Engine 3 is not suited for PS4 development: that means we shall need to modify our current engine, which can take quite a bit of time."

"I have to ask though, would it not be easier (and cheaper) to subscribe to Unreal Engine 4 when it comes time to port your game to Sony's console, and then migrate your work from the UE3 build to the UE4 engine/environment? Modifying, refining and debugging UE3 to work better on PS4 seems like more work, for less results... at least from what I gather. I've worked on some games, but as an artist, not on any serious technical level, so I could be super, super wrong. I'm just asking."

So Sony only has to chip in 40k to get a rpg? (wink wink) Sony, we know you have a hidden stash of cash somewhere....you were "supposed" to be bankrupt already...says the internet anyway

If one of the major videogame websites run a piece on it like that other game a week or so ago (think kotaku did a piece), they will hit that milestone well before the 7 days are up.

Thanks jlmurph!

People really abuse the word "clone" these days, don't they?

...Yeah, I dont know. I'm not into anthropomorphic animals in games x.x I'll prob just pass
