Anyone know how it works with UE3 and UE4 porting to PS4 and Vita?

More from the kickstarter page:

"We will need some extra help to port the game on PlayStation 4; Moreover, we’ll have to pay for the development kit (around 2 500$). Unreal Engine 3 is not suited for PS4 development: that means we shall need to modify our current engine, which can take quite a bit of time."

"I have to ask though, would it not be easier (and cheaper) to subscribe to Unreal Engine 4 when it comes time to port your game to Sony's console, and then migrate your work from the UE3 build to the UE4 engine/environment? Modifying, refining and debugging UE3 to work better on PS4 seems like more work, for less results... at least from what I gather. I've worked on some games, but as an artist, not on any serious technical level, so I could be super, super wrong. I'm just asking."
