Forums - Microsoft - How the X1 could immediately make the Kinect a system seller.

It would become a showing of dicks. Nothing more.

Around the Network

I thought I was going to hear about a masterfully crafted Kinect software. When it comes to game consoles I don't know why people think things that aren't games are gonna make them and related peripherals sell better.

umm if you can do it with kinect, you can do it with PS4 eye camera. So what's the difference?

c'mon dude you know you can't..  three operating systems running parallel.. to one. the ps4 is admittedly more powerful with graphics, but the X1's design lets it do things the PS4 simply can't do. Not because it doesn't have the horsepower, just that the horses are running a slighlty different race.

No really, what is stopping pulling a video chat while in a lobby?   There is no technical impediment.
XBone's "mutitasking" allows switching out to a totally independent application,
but what you're talking about is linked to the game, involving the exact same players waiting in the same game lobby,
i.e. it would tie into the game code, and be just as easily achieved via an in-game v-chat feature.
Exporting the IP address of the other players to a separate v-chat app is pointless, you can do it in app just as well or better.
"Multitasking" is great when you want to allow combining/switching between ARBITRARY programs not inherently related to each other.
If you know what programs you want to use (near) simultaneously, and they are tightly tied together, m-tasking doesn't offer much value.

unimaginative my man. limited by either deference to the PS4 or an inability to see the tech for what it can do. nuff said.

also, I don't begrudge those that throw around important sounding words in forums to appear more intellectual, I do it quite often.. lol.. , but what exactly is an ARBITRARY progam?

would that be a program that just, you know, pops up on its own all uninvited like...  or maybe it's a program that doesn't know it's a program. Sorry to go all 'Tron' on you, but I'd really like a better definition or what an ARBITRARY program is.

I don't think you really know. In fact, I'm going to wager that you simply threw that word in there to sound super duper smart.

There is no such thing as an ARBITRARY program. makes no sense.

therego, your post is sorta mute. see ya' next time.

That sounds more like a reason not to buy an xbox at all!
