The truth is, there wasn't a single really good team or really good player in this tournament. Nobody stood out and impressed. Messi did carry his team to the final and he's Messi, so why not... He's just as good a pick as anybody.

Id have gone Muller. Scored more goals than Messi and didnt have a bad game.

Rodriguez should have been in with a shout too. As should Robben or even Neuer.

No way Messi should've won the Golden Ball. Muller, Robben or Rodriguez for me. Rodriguez won the golden boot though which makes me happy. Neuer completely deserves the golden glove, he's incredible.
