I'm so scared for Argentina now. Please don't get thrashed like that.

Won't happen don't worry. Brazil today played like old Argentina, the one that would win big or lose big. And with a delicious poetic justice it was precisely Germany that humiliated and exposed Argentina in 2010. This time around Argentina has played the opposite, they touch the ball more and rely exclusively on Messi up front.  This is why most of their games have been 1-0. They respect every opponent and play it safe ( so much so that people don't like it), and will do so much more now after seeing what happened to Brazil. And so will Netherlands.

I honestly expect tomorrow's game to last 120 minutes. And the final as well.

I'm from Argentina but I'm not that into football. Mind to explain why so much hate between Brasil and Argentina? And also why does everyone on every website hate Argentina so much?! I've been reading "[The following opponent] will surely destroy Argentina's sorry ass" since the beginning of the WC in, like, everywhere, yet in my country I've asked people that knows a lot about football and they're positive about their predictions and not just for blind faith so it makes no sense to me; the rest of the worlds talks about us like if we were a complete failure of a team but then on the opposite side people in my country is optimist and we kept winning until now. A proper explanation would be really appreciated.

Brazil and Argentina once fought a war over Uruguay. Also historically Argentina was the richest south american nation by far. It prospered while Brazil was stuck on the military dictatorship that abolished the Empire. It has gotten better now, but it is argued a sort of inferiority complex from those times has made the casual relations between the two a bit sore even today. Some might tell a different tale though. That is what I accept as explanation.

As for the Argentine squad being not very liked... I don't know. A lot of people dislike Messi because he's that good... but maybe it's more reasonable that people cheer for the other squads the most, instead of directly shunning Argentina.

gg.

nice racial profiling because I have the word para in my name lol.

and i'm still confident of argentina or holland winning the cup.

this german team is nothing speical they met brazil at a good time and took advantage of it.

I think you are better off playing FIFA  instead of commenting in real matches.

After a display of arrogance who reeked of bad taste, you don't even have the face to face an opposing argument without deflecting it...

So, in short, people uses football as a way to demonstrate superiority over a complex created over an historic fact that has no connection to sports at all whatsoever?

"Hey, look! We won a match against a team who represents a country with whom ours has had political issues in the past and arguably has no significant relevance nowadays! That'll teach them!".

Sometimes I don't understand the society's general consensus at all

I always thought it was just the right to claim the title of "best South American side". I didn't realize it was that deep.

"Dr. Tenma, according to you, lives are equal. That's why I live today. But you must have realised it by now...the only thing people are equal in is death"---Johann Liebert (MONSTER)

"WAR is a racket. It always has been.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

Brazil may have reduced the losing margin with Silva and Neymar, losing by 3 or 4 goals instead of being humiliated 7-1 in Brazil. Score was 5- nil after half an hour in favour of Germany. Brazil managed to hold Germany scoreless for 30 minutes before Germany scored two more goals to go up 7-nil. Brazil scored late consolation, more like Germany let Brazil score.

Tonight Argentina and Holland play off to see who will face favorites Germany in WC Final. Hoping for a much closer game than Germany's 7-1 smashing of Brazil. Either way it looks like Germany will win the Final by 3 goals regardless who they play in the Final.

Ok, 8-1 was more like a joke.

I really cant explain.

It is cultural. Everywhere in Brazil, thousands of jokes against Argentina in football. It influences people, and people influence other people, and this cicle create this odd phenonen. I myself incorporated the joke.

---

But with no jokes, I particularly want Argentina to loose because they will play with Brasil. Argentina is the main Brasil rival. Is like Red and Blue from pokemon. The game is more excinting against Argentina than Netherlands.

I did not know the Brazilian squad was this fragile.

Do Silva and Neymar = Brazil?

I hope the Dutch smash Arg by 3 goals and prove Dutch smashing of Spain was no fluke. It would be good to see Argentina score the first goal and Dutch score 4 in a row.
Holland 4- Argentina 1.
