Kirby007:
Arg vs Swi, 1-0
Bel vs 'Murica 2-1

Argentina 2-1 Switzerland
Belgium* 2-2 United States of America (Belgium win on penalties)

I think Argentina is almost certain to go through (but might have some trouble) while I really don't know about Belgium vs. USA. Could go either way.

What nonsense if you are upset with something i say say it to my face and not go cry with a backstabbing mod report, thats not how a real supporter behaves

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

This whole world cup could be rendered moot if the match fixing is true.

FIFA are useless. They have "the most sophisticated anti-match fixing systems in place" and yet they didn't notice that the betting patterns on the Cameroon v Brazil game were apparently bizarre and massive.

The result was as predicted by the betting patterns... and the red card too.

Looks like an obvious fix.

I don't think there is such a thing as "anti match fixing systems". It's impossible to prevent and only hard to spot. No way to know until it has alrady happened.

It's not like FIFA could stop players who are deliberately losing a game. The only thing they can do is investigate and punish those responsible.

of course there is... its called betting patterns.

If prior to a game there is a ton of money suddenly placed on a team conceding 4 goals and getting  a red card then thats evidence.

So what would your plan of mitigation in this case be? Canceling the game on the basis of a crime that hasn't happened yet?

While I think many of us understand you very well I think you should be careful to avoid another moderation. People in this thread have been shown to be "ruthless".

Me being banned doesn't make you right on that topic. I was wrong in calling you dense, doesn't chance that you totally ignored others and reports which pointed out Robben specifically said it was about an incident in the first half and he didn't dive in the 94th minute

No idea.  Ask FIFA, they have "the most sophisticated anti max fixing systems of all time" in place.   Or is that just more Blatter bull shit?  You could be right.

Of course it's bull. As I said, there is no way to prevent it. You can only punish the ones you caught and even then you can't really nullify the match unless both teams are involved.

I wouldn't say that it hurts the sport though. There are just some things you have to deal with, like diving or unsporting fans who are booing other people's national anthems.
