Jo and Fred as their number 9s. Says it all. Brazil got very lucky against Chile. Chile looked like a better team but did not have luck on their side. That last penalty shot, 9 times out of 10 hitting post like that would have gone into the goal.

Because their perfomance was lackluster? Heck, Brazil's first goal wasn't even scored by David Luiz! It was an own-goal!

What? How Uruguai without Soarez or Colombia harder than Chili?

Colombia is MUCH better than Chile. Colombia can kick Brazil's ass without breaking a sweat!

Really? I only managed to see their second game, so i can't really say, but their group was easier than Chili's.

But we will see that soon, i am betting on colombia to win against Uruguai too.

It's easy to say it was better after it won the World Cup. That WC was insanely tense as well. We beat Turkey on the semi-finals based on luck and some controversial referee decisions. TURKEY! We did have Ronaldo and Rivaldo though =P

 

I'm not saying Brazil played well against Chile, far from that. First half was great, but something happened at second half that... holy crap... But 2002 was not "miles better", no.

I admit " MILES better" was an exaggeration, but you can't deny that Brazil's team was better in 2002!

It was lackluster, yes, but I can name at least one team that performed even more lackluster.

Therefore it was deserved.

Poor performance by Brazil. Defense was awful. But in the end Julio Cesar saved Brazil.
