They were not robbed. That was not a penalty. There is no objective way of proving that Iran played better. They were huge underdogs and put up a great fight against a team which many people expect to go very far in the tournament and that's why people feel bad for them and are saying they played better. In reality no they did not play better. They defended well and had a few very close chances, but they did not play better.

Having 9 players defending, never seeing more than 1/3 of field for nearly the entire match and literally relying on 2 (albeit fast) players to counterattack suddenly means your team deserved to win? Give me a break.

Do I think Argentina deserved it? No they played bad, other than Messi and Di Maria the team was nonexistant. Aguero and Higuain were horrible once again missing every assist by Messi ( just like the Bosnia match). At this point is clear that if Messi doesn't shoot to goal himself Argentina won't win.

The fairest score for this incredibly mediocre match was 0 - 0.

Yeah because any other team would have done so much better, right? I'm not saying argentina played well, but to say iran deserved t win is just crazy. The put up a barricade! i doubt any other team would have penetrated it so easily.
