Yeah they've dominated African competition but then couldn't make it past the World Cup qualifiers.

No, I'm talking about either the World Cup or Copa America. 

Gold Cup doesn't really count.

African qualifiers are like a Champions League tournament they're the hardest to get through and the are only four spots, Egypt are one of the strongest yeah but the are like 10 other teams that are also one of the strongest on the continent meaning 6 or so have to go out. 4 of them for example got drawn in one group this year, Cameroon, Nigeria, Zambia and Algeria and keep in mind the former 3 are 3 of the last 4 African Champions, it's probably one reason why the WC is being expanded to 64 teams.

Imagine if only 4 European teams could go through, the qualifiers would be like the Euros.

Would be pretty hard for them to win the Copa America when they're usually not in it due to not being a south American country

They have to be invited to it which they have been several times and reached the Semi-Finals twice. 

But if not happy with that then I'll just say World Cup before England does. A team of individuals will buckle against an average team that play together.

Woah, it's just going to 48 for now. 64 would be crazy!

But yeah, African qualifiers are pretty stupid. Not enough places for the amount of teams that really deserve one. Also really sucks that in their final stage it's get 1st place and go to the World Cup or finish anywhere else and get nothing. Really hope when they set up their new expanded qualifying system they have something (whether it be a World Cup place or a playoff place) for the 2nd placed teams as well so it isn't just winner takes all.

It's only a matter of time before FIFA decides to expand to 64.

Considering how few African teams qualified for the round of 16 in the last few World Cups, Africa wasn't really underrepresented.

2014 was the first time more than 1 African team made the Round of 16. In 2010 only 1/6 made it past the first round.

Thanks for providing evidence for Ka-pi's reverse racism.

In fact, Asia and Africa are overrepresented considering their performances. For example, in the 32 team era they both have 1/8 teams in the World Cup. So mathematically there should be 1 Asian and 1 African team in the quarterfinals every World Cup. But since 1998, there's only been 1 Asian team in the quarterfinals and 2 African teams.
