Depends, what's your definition of world class player?

I've seen some people that call just about every player possible world class so...

Definily not Cahill, Sterling, Sturridge.. Like Goatseye said.. My level would be Like Bale, Robben, Suarez, Modric, Griezman.. That level below Messi and Ronaldo.. Cahill, Sterling, Sturridge are well below that.. How does FIFA 16 rate the English?

There you go, I think they are slightly overrated

You did well.

I 100% agree with the reasons as well.

PS: I'm secretly hoping Belgium steals the show and win this Euro even if I know that probably won't happen. The reason? I love to see new powerhouses rising (like Spain did in 2008).

We don't need new powerhouses. What we need first is finally rewarding teams that have been great for a decade.

You're right, but who are those teams? Germany already won WC2014. Besides them, I can't honestly think of another team that has "been great for a decade".

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

The last "world class" English players were prime Beckham, Lampard and Gerrard.

We currently have no "world class" players. None of that starting XI would get into the German team or the French team, or even the Spanish team. Cahill, Sterling, Sturridge and Rooney wouldn't start for the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid or Juventus.

It's a cup full of poison that needs pouring out and filling up with fresh water.

Edit - Add in John Terry to that world class section too.

Also (turn on subtitles)

Well, Spain won 3 by being complete shit. So Germany needs as least one more to achieve some kind of justice. You never know when the team will turn into shit again like the pre 2006 garbage.

I wouldn't mind Germany winning this Euro as well, but aside from them I don't see any of the powerhouses deserving it (for consistency over the last years).

Regarding Spain, I respectfully disagree. I don't think any team can win 3 major tournaments on a row while being complete shit. This tends to happen only once (like Italy on WC2006 or Greece on Euro2004), maybe twice at max, but 3 times? That's pushing it. Plus, if Spain was shit and still managed to be so successful, then the other teams are to blame for allowing it. But I guess I get what you're saying... they had luck some times and a weak defense (with a great GK to save their ass) and a very passive/slow playstyle... but that doesn't make them shit imo tho, just boring.

Based on what do people expect the English team to perform well in these tournaments?

People think those players are better thn they actually are because of overrated premier league

I wouldn't say that. I think it's more just a case of the players not being used to playing with each other. When you are playing with the same team week in week out, you get used to the play style and how your teammates setup, but with international football, not so much. It's just in the case of other national sides, i think playstyles from their main clubs and their national sides are closer as a lot of the players usually come from the top 2 clubs....

... I say this and realise that loads of players from the French, German and Spanish sides all play in the Premier League but they are doing fine in this tournament.

Oh, I remember now, England are crap.

Hmm, pie.

Poland 1-2 Portugal
Wales 1-3 Belgium
Germany 1-0 Italy
France 2-0 Iceland
