and why I'm happy following a lower league club

Speaking of which, looking like you're safe for another year.

Under Sheridan we will have a promo push next year for sure.  Since he arrived we are play off form and its not even his team.

Those two clowns previously in charge were utterly clueless.

Yep, your lot let me down for just under £240 when you stopped Walsall from scoring a few weeks back.

I'm excited for a full season under Wagner. The difference in energy and commitment from the players since Powell was let go is outstanding, turns out he was only holding training sessions twice a week and still lived in London. Wagner is fully committed and it's showing. A couple of promising transfers already confirmed, a positive brand of football being played and he's actually figured out how to play Wells without a target man.

Newcastle can potentially pull a West Brom style great escape.

good win for spurs yesterday, keep up the pressure

Yes, how dare they try and buy a title.... thats Man U, Real and Barca's role.  Always has been, always should be.

NFL has billionaire owners, would you watch club football again if there was a euro "soccerbowl" with just 30/40 odd franchises simiiar to the USA

The NFL has a salary cap and the draft.

The salary cap allows each franchise to spend only a certain amount of money on player salaries. This makes it impossible for any franchise to buy up a large number of great athletes, simply because the best players will be able to get much better contracts at teams that aren't already loaded with star players. Since almost every franchise is owned by a billionaire, there are no poor teams who don't even get close to reaching the salary cap due to a lack of money.

The draft lets the worst team of the previous season pick first from the pool of upcoming talents while the Super Bowl winner gets to pick last. This in conjunction with the salary cap makes it hard for teams to have consistent success. You can't buy up all the good players, you don't have access to the biggest talents.

The competition in the NFL is much more dependent on management skills than football. Money is not really a factor. If the UEFA added rules that greatly diminished the weight of money in their competitions, then yes, I would probably watch club football again. There was actually a bit of hope that something like that would be implemented when Platini took the reigns, but once PSG got stuffed with money, all of those plans were dropped because Platini didn't want to hamper a French club.

The biggest drawback of the American franchise system is the lack of relegation. Losing is not only without real consequences, it's actually kind of encouraged because of the draft. But that's a lesser evil than what is going on in Europe where the competition is dishonest and distorted because a bunch of billionaires are allowed to simply buy their way to trophies.

yeah,NFL is a much more complicated sport too compared to football on/off the pitch it suits the franchise system well and of course the usa is one country

when the eu finally becomes the USE i guess we will have a "soccerbowl" too with the minor leagues made up of clubs that are left in individual states where players are bought from like a draft system

Suarez is far and away the best striker in the world right now.

4 goals and and 2 assists against Deportivo.

Barca pls...

Yeah, keep it going. Deportivo must be massacred.

What a disgusting "tackle" by Funes Mori 😐 Fucking idiot, and what did he mean by pulling his own shirt? Anyone watching?
