Don't need money/bribes neccesarrely, just promise shit countries like Bhutan and Cook Islands more World Cup places for their regions and have FIFA invest more money into them and they'll vote for you. If you promise the African countries that you'll give them 2 extra World Cup tickets you pretty much have 54 votes on lock as long as no other candidate does the same. 

Someone still has to explain to me why countries like Tonga, Somalia and Eritrea (the worst 3 countries in the world) have as much voting power as Belgium, Argentina and Spain (the best 3 countries in the world), it absolutely makes 0 sense to me. It would be like every US state having the same amount of electoral vote in the US presidential election.

It's a case of hope. What I know about the two favorites:

Salman intends to do the job for free. But I suppose that he wants to improve Asia's influence and I don't want to see more Asian teams in the World Cup.

Infantino wants to increase the World Cup to 40 teams. As if we would like to see more African and Asian teams.

I think we'll be screwed either way.

Anyone who wants to up the amount of countries participating in the World Cup can fuck off IMO, especially if they're Asian and African countries.

Agreed. At a certain point qualifying will be meaningless and just have everyone at the World Cup.

I do question as the number of countries grow the possible candidate nations shrinks to accomodate demands. Of course, I say this with Qatar 2022 on the horizon so who knows.

Gianni Infantino is the new FIFA president, he won with 115 votes out of a possible 207. 

I absolutely can't wait for a World Cup with an extra 8 African and Asian teams who will play like absolute dogshit for 270 minutes and go home afterwards...
