I'm not someone into conspiracy theories, but I feel the ref during Olympiakos - Anderlecht might have bribed.

  1. Somehow the attacker made the foul, obviously should have been a free kick for Anderlecht and a red card for the defender
  2. A penalty was given for this (I can see why he gave a penalty here depending on the angle he was looking at),
  3. Somehow this was just a yellow, obvious red since the player is through on goal and it's just a nasty tackle in general

As you can see all 3 calls were heavily in favor of Olympiakos.

I'm not into conspiracy theories, but this deserves an investigation. I can't quite understand how he could fail like that and all in favor of Olympiakos.

Dortmund => deserved winners, sovereign
Schalke => deserved losers, spineless
Augsburg => well done, Fugger
Klopp => mediocre team, lucky*
van Gaal => ass saved by a local teenage talent, more than lucky*

*need even more luck in case BVB or Valencia is the next opponent

Nice week for English clubs for a change. Hopefully the league is in an upward trajectory from next season. Should be with the quality of managers coming in.

All my 2 euro's are on Gary Nevillle's Valencia

The Scenes if it ends up a United vs Valencia Final with both teams needing to win to get into the CL haha, would be gutting for me either way :'(

I do wonder something. Why are people surprised that Man U struggled against this team? sure they ended up beating them comfortably but they are danish champions and saints (who have beaten Man U this season) lost to them in early rounds.

Hmm, pie.

Because the Danish competition is shit. It's the #24 on the UEFA rankings, behind countries such as Cyprus, Belarus, Sweden, Norway and Israël.

Manchester United vs Liverpool hype.

Hold on. Teams from the same country can draw each other in the Europa league in the last 16 but not the Champions league?...

Okay.

Eitherway, that will definitely make the Europa league a bit more interesting.

Hmm, pie.

Leverkusen v Villarreal
Valencia v Athletic Club
Manchester United v Liverpool
Lazio v Sparta Praha
Anderlecht v Shakhtar
Sevilla v Basel
Tottenham v Dortmund
Braga v Fenerbahçe

Some interesting match ups this round.

FIFA Presidential Election round 1 result:
