Xbox360 was the most inspiring console ever created!! Ps3 is for rich spoiled kids and wannabes that want to feel cool. nuff said

I think all the PS3 models are the best looking console ever created.

You mean 'inspiring' in the vein of being the console that inspired developers to tread new grounds, make games that had an original aura of exploration and a never-before seen soul of limitless imagination? Inspiring in the way that the 'gamer' can only dream of what comes next?

Then no, definitely not.

That console would either be the Atari 2600, the NES or the two biggest 5th Gen consoles.

PS3 is a great console that supply's it's fans with great games to this day.

I'm not really sure what you mean by inspiring but I'm going to say no.

I think the persistent belief that people have regarding Sony is due to the fact that they smashed it out of the ballpark in the two generations that preceded the PS3. People weren't willing to believe that Sony had just 'lost it'.

It has been quite a turnaround. It went from being one of the most hated consoles of all time to one of the most beloved.

Can't really say if it has been "inspiring" though.

Oh I see you mean the sales disaster 180° turnaround? Never heard anyone talk about the PS3 for a comparison Everything I see is "look at the 3ds".

I'm pretty sure that the sterotype (And to an extent true) is that people, mostly kids, are hardcore gamer wannabe's and have an Xbox 360.

Well... it was deemed to fail from the start thanks to its hefty price tag and disastrous E3 announcement, its publicity was stupid, it used a custom CPU designed by Sony which was expensive to build, said hardware was difficult to develop for, it barely had support from publishers and the media at the start, it was in 3rd place for a long time, people used to mock it because it looked like a grill, and some disgruntled script kiddies brought down its network... yes this is hardly inspiring, but bear with me.


The expensive technology that had the future in mind (Blu-Ray, Bluetooth, etc) has set some standards, many studios managed to use the Cell to it's fullest potential, known personalities that openly voiced their disgust with the console had finally shown their support, While third party developers made the PS3 their main developing console and showcased their multiplatforms performing better on it, first party developers have raised the bar in exclusives quality. They've finally used smart marketing to promote their games. And despite all that, it crept into second place.


While the console itself it's still not perfect, it became a preferred gathering place for a lot of gamers. From being at risk to be thrown into forgetfulness by 2007, to becoming one of the top selling consoles from the last generation. Maybe I'm forgetting more details, but in my opinion, this is why the PS3 might as well be the most inspiring console ever made.
