Microsoft registers new “Phantom Dust” trademark

In Europe, Microsoft has registered a new trademark for “Phantom Dust”. It was filed for very recently – yesterday, to be specific.

Phantom Dust is a name that may sound familiar to longtime Xbox players. Yukio Futatsugi directed a game using the very same title for the original Xbox about a decade ago, with Microsoft Game Studios handling development.

i like the sound of that name, lol. i wonder if its AAA and if it is, who is making it?. MS said they founded 5 studios to make new AAA games for the xbox one. we know Black Tusk is making gears, Victoria studio's shut down, so maybe this is one of the remaining three? also, did they count 343i with those 5 studios or not?

MS better have something hidden away for E3! They are absolutely dominating the news cycle the last week and a half!

I just hope Futatsugi won't fuck it up if he will do it and he probably will be the responsible guy for that game. First game was really good on Xbox.

I had never heard of this game until about 2 months ago and now it feels like I hear about it every other week!

Interesting that Microsoft seem to be considering/in the process of reviving this. Fair play to them.

Microsoft did say they are going to spend a billion dollars on games and it's starting to show.
