Forums - Gaming - fully digital has certain disadvantages

Going fully digital has many advantages, but also has some major drawback.

Remember this?

You will stop encountering random people in line have a nice chat with and swap ID's with on top of that lines allways make a good impression of how hyped a game is when arguing on the internet.

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

Around the Network

Yeah it will be sad if midnight launches die out.

Aye, I remember going to buy "The Burning Crusade" and "Wrath of the lich king" at our games stores midnight openings here, was great and met a load of other warcraft players from the same town. Bought Pandaland and even Warlords from the blizz store already.... feels just so boring in comparison to that midnight event feel... literally files ready on my PC to play it when the content is available... but there is no event to its launch.

Not having to stand in a huge line with random people. Not exactly what I'd call a disadvantage.

Exactly. And it's not like it's line of cool people either, most of the time you're surrounded by annoying deuchebags lol

Around the Network

You can always invite random strangers to your home for a midnight party.

Not standing in line has nothing to do with digital. For the past 8 years I never stood in line to get any of my numerous physical games.

It's called online shopping.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

I don't know why people even bother waiting in line especially at midnight. I'd never ever do it.

For the same reason I loved splitscreen you knew your opponent and could see their face when you destroyed them.

It did? Warcraft subs were up the last 2 quarters afaik. Or do you mean in some other way such as how its game play is now easy because it's possible to select a version of raiding which is basically every boss neutered?

Not really sure is there any other game which came out in the ERA of the PS2 still being played and enjoyed as much as Warcraft, unless there is some PC game I'm not thinking of.
