It has been by a lot of people. Just like people call the first playstation PS1 people called the original XBox X1.

I really always wondered why chunk cares? His precious Wii U is about to be in third place in the the three way console race. he hates MS consoles most. He supports the Chicago bears while he lives in Arizona with a good football team. he is a strange man of mystery that hates MS consoles. He should just call it the X1 like smart people that want to type the least. Crazy Chunk.

PS1 was called PS1 because Sony actually released a console called PS One

I've got to agree here. xb180, xb720, delaystation, portstation 4, replaystation should all be bannable terms.
Plus I'm not using any shorthand with numbers. Numbers take too long to use thus defeating the point.

They did, but that's not the only reason. People refer to the first iteration of anything as 1. I call the first Metal Gear Solid MGS1. I call the first Gears of War GoW1 etc.
Also:
"Xbox One is the formal name and that shall never be used in any forum due to the uneccesary hardships this presents on the typer. "
What?? Hardships on the typist*? If "Xbox One" is hard to type then I suggest you take a keyboarding class.

Anything that is named in a series that has chronological numbering can be shortened like that. Xbox, Xbox 360, and Xbox One are not numerical order. Playstation is the only console in history to have a name like that. Other consoles are named by their description/characteristics, not the order that they came out. Xbox is already short enough for DirectX Box and was never called X1 the same way Xbox 360 wasn't called X2.
X1 is stupid, but it's also the name of a Comcast product that does essentially the same thing as the X180, but without games. An all in one entertainment device shouldn't be called by another all in one entertainment device's official name. I'll never use X1 to refer to it, not so long as it's the name of a similar product. I use Xbone a lot because it contains the entire name in a way that's easy to read as one word, which I like, but when I'm in a setting where I think people will get their panties in a bunch about it, I use XBO. Mentally looking over what I've typed, Xbone is easier to read, to me, even more so than 180, while I tend to read XBO as "ecks-bow" so it still works better than 180 for me. I think X180 won't catch on, even though it's better than typing the full name, because if anything, it's more offensive than even Xbone, and for those who don't care about that, there are easier things to type and say. Xbone is the easiest to read and say for me, while XBO is the easiest to type.

Halo will bring a green version... what game typically has browns in past special editions? |
That's in reference to MS' unsuccesfull Zune MP3 players which came in brown...

I'm not sure why this thread was allowed to stay open but I'm locking it. The suggested name in the OP is bound to irritate people and from there it's all a slippery slope to every other derogatory names for consoles being used as retaliation.
I won't moderate anyone in this thread but be reminded that names like Xbox 180, Delaystation 4, Portstation 4 are not to be used.
