Well they did not drop the price at all. They just put another system out, one that comes with less features and is therfore cheaper. And there is one bundled with a game now for the same price.

At the end of the day the Xbox One 5 million people bought so far is still $499 and has not seen a pricecut yet.

So....did the PS3 not really drop the price for a while? There was always a $500 model (initially the 20GB), then they dropped the 60GB to $500 (after 20GB phase out), introduced the 80GB at $600, then introduced the 40GB at $400 with less features and is therefore cheaper. Then phased out the 60GB, and dropped the 80GB to $500. Keep in mind that there's always been a $500 model at this point.

Then they finally dropped the $500 80GB to $400 (phased out 40GB) in September 2008, but introduced a 160GB model for $500. Finally in August 2009, there was no more $500 model. The 160 dropped to $400, and the 80 was dropped to $300. By your criteria, PS3 didn't drop price for almost 3 years (33 months, almost as much as Wii). You'll be hard pressed to get someone to believe that. For all intents and purposes, there was a price drop to $400 with the 40GB PS3, and there was a price drop to $400 for the Kinect-less XBone.

Don't sweat it. I'm sure it'll have another price drop on the kinect version by year end.

But nicely done.

Wow, the Wii was so impressive.
Technically if you consider that $449 Titanfall bundle, the X1 did have a temporary price drop just 5 months after launch, and its had a few price drops in the UK 5 months after launch as well.

Oh you know, I completely forgot about that.

The titanfall deal was basically a short term, so I'd simply consider that a discount, but that price action in the uk was definitely a permanent price drop.

Didn't the original Xbox have a price cut on launch day in Europe?

Oh, you're right. I thought it was only announced in feb. Now I feel bad if I list that.

I can only assume that MS expected much better sales out of the UK and so priced it more than it should've been..80 pounds more expensive in the UK than ps4 was 134$ more expensive, which was then cut to only 50 pounds more, or 84$ more expensive. 30 pounds also equates to a 50$ price drop, which is what they did in the US as a promo for titanfall, though they specifically said the drop was to "giv(e) UK gamers the best value we can".

Oh well.

no it was just launched with the price-cut already included. I don't think anywhere they had an initial price and then changed it.
