They are more respected and popular because they are "more correct".

What they do is still ultimately estimates, but on a considerably larger and thus reliable basis than VGC. That's why VGC always adjusted their numbers when more reliable sources come out.

Guess we have no way to know if your prediction will ever become true since there is no accurate metric to measure console sales in the US.

You know, I did provide a link to NPD's methodology much earlier in this thread. I am not surprised that you neglected the link and not bothered reading how NPD gets its numbers.

The ps4 and X1 aren't even 1 full year on the market.

In USA the current sales as well as the total sales are really close, and you're naming winners already?
