What good will it do when PS4 rules the roost for the rest of this year and is so far ahead of Xbox in every other country that Xbox's NA lead is insignificant?

im wondering the same thing

I remember last gen how NPD was "all that mattered" to most people. It seems that some poeople think that only the console that is #1 in sales in NA matters.

Reading through these comments it seems most people think Titanfall is the best game the Xbox One will ever get. I know I wasn't interested in it and I'm yet to purchase an XO although I've owned their last two consoles. The fact is neither the PS4 or XO haven't received any must have exclusives yet so anything is possible. If the XO dropped to $299 before the PS4 and it had some killer games it would sell like hot cakes so lets stop acting like the gen was decided in 6 months.

I hear ya! This is the very same attitude XBOX 360 owners had during the first 6 months of last gen.

i agree and i dont agree at the same time. Yes its too soon, but come on. SOny got the rest of the world on lock for the most part unless something drastic happens. xbox is a non factor in Japan. US is the only place and maybe UK where it can go either or. So WW i dont see how xone can overtake it.

Man, I don't normally respond to these things, but the key is how well each console does with multiplatform games.   Understandably gamers (both hard core and casual) are looking for the best version of their favorite AAA game, especially early into the next gen cyle,.  Right now, this is easily the PS4 with the higher resolutions and framerates.  Why in the world would you not want the definitive version of your "big budget game" even if the graphical differences are small. Of course you'll want the better one.  Without question on larger HD tvs, the PS4 version of almost all multiplates simply look sharper and cleaner.  MS is no longer in a position to demand graphical parity as they once did with the 360.  Everything that I've read indicates that the PS4 grpahically will remain ahead of the XBO into the distant future.  The MS hope of cloud enhancement, DX12, and now the kinectless extra power won't make a big difference.  Right now Sony has the real and perceived hardware advantage in the console world.  It will be interesting, however,  to see what the STEAMBOX systems will do to the gaming industry...

Just to add a bit about that, in fact you could have plenty of reasons not to choose the best version, if the console come sooner, is cheaper, the super market share make all your friend have it, etc. The problem is that the XOne offers none of these reasons.

what about WW,do we go to that when Xbox wins back home territory or is that the end of the gen when xbox leads in the US

I smell like the dark forest of Dwemereth in the morning mist                                                   fanboy til i'm bankrupt

I would say yes for North America but no to Worldwide. Analyst have a better idea than we do in these predictions as they apply research methodology as compared to many posters here who apply fanboyism. Realistically the many millions of 360 owners who love their standard 360 shooters in NA (significantly more than the Ps3 owners) will now have a reason to upgrade due to price parity. It really isn't that hard when you think about it. XBOX One will take NA sooner or later. Lol at the poll results showing never though.

North America is home of shooters. Microsoft has Halo and Gears, which will both help sell consoles. However, those don't launch until next year, which may be too late. I think the remastered Halo collection is more fan service than a console mover.

I think NA will be decided by Destiny this fall. Destiny will definitely be a console seller, for both Sony and Microsoft. However, if Sony market the snot out of it (to give the impression that it is an exclusive), and it sells as well as Watch_Dogs did, the lead Sony builds could be insurmountable by next year.

With the Bundle and the exclusive content, I can't see how the PS4 won't crush the XB1 in relation to Destiny moving consoles.

The question is does that start a snowball effect for COD, Battlefield, AC, etc. since most people want to play these games with friends.

At least when people spoke of PS3 was going to pass 360 it was on the premise that PS3 has had a stronger brand recognition in the market and PS3 was outselling 360 WW by a tiny margin. This is just tales from some marketeer's ass.

Far too many Microsoft worshipers in the media, who cannot fathom them not always owning the market. Not saying it is impossible....but what are they basing this on other than their investors personal wants for the market? PS3 was outselling 360 when it cost more than it. PS4 will do even better seeing as it was less at the start, and on an even playing field XBO stands less of a chance.

Something to think about, if PS3 and 360 came out at the same time and sold at the same trend they did..... PS3 would of had at least 10million lead on it.

Or lemme guess.... they want to ignore WW sales and just concentrate on US like they started doing all last gen? Please sit down and shut up analysts.... you are drunk.

That's a bad assumption that all 360 owners are going to automatically go to XB1.
