There's no correlation between price drops and sales being significantly below expectations.

first there is no pricedrop just a kinectless sku which is offering more sales options, secondly bad may numbers will be the result of this announcement and not the cause

They allways want to increase sales, doesn;t mean they did it because April and may looked less then stellar

They allways want to increase sales, doesn;t mean they did it because April and may looked less then stellar


They did it because of sales tho, they did it because there losing ground on there rivals, if sales this year had been higher it might not of happened. 

 

Dropping kinect was the quickest way they could get a price cut at retail, to increase sales, because there not good enough, it really is that simple.

Another good reason is the share of shelf space dedicated to the XO is poorly aligned to the share of sales commanded by it.
Slow-selling items with few substitutes are typically “over-spaced” simply due to the scaled nature of item stocking.

the games annouuncement makes little sense, not doubt MS will bring it this E3 but this announcement would all but like 5 min....they spent that much time introducing their 360 slim back in 2010, this announcement would've been perfect for the ending of MS's conference; show a bunch of games then say "BOOOM!!!" now $399!!!

*crowd goes nuts*(or atleast dem MS employees :P)
