My first thought this was done in part for their China release. I really don't see China being to keen on Kinect.

Doubt it, have you seen the guidelines for games to follow that want to release in China? Most of Microsoft's games are not gonna make it there.

no, boosting sales is the only reason, no need to think for what other reason...

If by actualy listens you mean they make all the wrong decisions, try to give consumers the short end of the stick, say removing DRM and Kinect is impossible than see everything blow on theyre faces pretty baddly and decide to backtrack on all theyre decisions than ye they listen.

Still doesn't change the fact that dropping the kinect will be one less headache for launching in China. Here's an article that suggest the same.

Small headache imo compared to the games problem, the only game I can think of that they can launch in China is KINECT Sports Rivals and now they got rid of the kinect so they can't launch that.

This reason is even funnier than to inflate shipments.
They need better pricing if they hope to make a dent in sony favorable Market. The reason x1 surplus weren't released there ahead of time was to avoid DoA. 10:1 in Spain and lagging behind in usa with TF and price cut is proof enough that a kinect x1 for 500,00+ would flop in most T2 countries.

If they thought it would be DOA then why would they ever release and plan to release in those countries?
Makes sense. Now I'm starting to think I bet MS wished they just left Kinect out from the start. That way they could already have released in Japan and a bunch of other markets.
90% of the reason is poor sales due to higher price than PS4 in the primary markets. 10% is whatever reason you want to write about here.
