Did you try Saints Row 2? Still the best game of it's kind that I've played ^_^ It was great to see the series realise it was never going to match GTA taking itself seriously and just making it all about OTT fun.

If there was one word I would use to describe the internet it would be hyperbolic.  VGChartz empitomizes this often with games being the extremes of abysmal or utter brilliance.  Even months before release see deluge of threads hyping something as the second coming and people bickering over a game no one has played.  I use to be like this a bit in my younger days, counting down the days to releases and putting unwarranted high expectations for each one to surpass my last experience. Maybe it is getting older, having less time, but rare for me to build up a game anymore, an dhonestly I think I am better for it.

Years ago I played the original Infamous and thought little of it, was not crazy about the characters, world or gameplay.  I never even beat it and passed on the sequel.  When Sony showed Second Son last year I shrugged and though, "eh, might be goood".  The game release came and went and this past week I rented it expected little to nothing.  Playing through I relaized a few hours in how much fun I was having and how much more it appealed to me in every way over the original.  I knew nothing about the game so the new powers were surprises to me and felt real sense of exploration.  I just finished 100% the blue/hero path and enjoyed it so much I plan to buy the game to do the red/infamous path in a bit.

It really doesn't matter the title, happened last year with The Last of Us for me as well going in with no expectations.  I was just wondering if the excessive hype and finding every detail leading up to release detracts from your experience?  Is it better for you to go in blank slate?
