Forums - Nintendo - Mario Golf

So i got mario Golf, on the whole I am glad i bought it but the main campaign is criminally short.

Takes about 3 hours to get the credits to roll, you have to play 5 rounds of golf, 3 of which is on the easiest course and honestly feels like padding.

There are 6 other 9 hole courses to unlock all with a much more arcadey feel with crazy powerups and level obstacles, with 8 fairly fun challenges per hole thats the actual meat of the game not the campaign mode, which is strange because the challenge mode is somewhat hidden away inside the quick game option.

The DLC is £10 and gives you 6 more 18 hole golf courses, this kind of grinds me a bit, as it feels like i paid for a demo of the campaign mode and there holding the rest of the game hostage for more money.

Anywho, i downloaded the free trial of the DLC, but cant actually figure out how to access it in the game, any one else figured this out?

I realised that all sounds like a winge but i would recommend this game still, just know what your getting into, but for anyone that owns a Vita as well Everybodys Golf is the much better option, but if you dont have a Vita or if youve already played Everybodys golf to death and are looking for more this will definatley fill that hole.

The free trial of DLC is for use in online tournaments and with friends so you aren't locked out of any online content. For personal use, you have to actually buy them

Ah thats cool, so does buying them for single player offer more than just practice matches? If not i will be happy just to play them online.

Well you get new challenges and stuff. Personally I've probably spent more than 20 hours in the game now, but I haven't really bothered with the "main campaign". I've played some private tournaments, all of the official ones so far (do it, you get cool outfits like a Game Boy hat and clothes, Wii U hats and lots of other stuff).

All in all, a great game. I probably just played Mario Golf 64 for a minute many years ago so I don't have experience with the series, but it's really fun.

Any of you guys made a tournament? I'd like to challenge you then. I'm not very good but it's fun nonetheless.

Edit. I also bought the three pack set of DLC, looking forward to the second pack later this month. It looks like it's based on worlds from NSMBU. And you get Nabbit.

Yep.

I bought the DLC so I can't check this, but isn't the trial only for one small DLC Trial tournament? I saw that tournament and I couldn't play it because I don't have the trial pack.

I mean I don't think you get much of the trial pack.

Yep.

Nothing will ever beat the campaign in Mario Golf GBC...
I am, however, enjoying World Tour...
I like the fact that they are including courses from old Mario Golf games in the DLC...
I'm still not entirely sure if I'll get the DLC though...

Have a nice day...

I'm taking my time. Going around doing a bit of everything. Story, Online tournaments, challenges and practice modes. There is a lot to do. Ton of gear to unlock.

I picked up the seasons pass yesterday and I think it's worth it although the first two dlc courses are a bit bland. But I don't know about you but for me the game was 10 dollars cheaper than most new 3ds games so with the extra DLC that only ended up being 5 extra dollars really. 6 full courses is actually twice the amount of full courses in game.

I only wish it had an rpg stat system like tiger woods or mario golf on the gameboy color and advance. Also I wish you could use the analog nub to have a real time swing. I don't know why tiger woods is the only series to use that brilliant control option. Just clicking B seems slight lame after playing like that.

yeah, I haven't really even payed much attention to the campaign mode. I end up playing the mess out of Mario Golf in general. The online mode I'm sure will last will make the game that much better.

Same here, playing the game, loving it... playing a bit of everything after a week still no credit for me...

Switch!!!

Id certainly go for an VGC Online tournament if its possible to do private ones :)
