damn BF, SW Battlefront and many more wtf, can these not get private servers?

I'm pretty sure this is because of the Gamespy shutdown, and I believe Gamespy handled server browsing for those games, so... Even if you can host private servers, you can't browse them.

I'm really surprised BF2 for PS2 wasn't shut down already, and why Bulletstorm??? The other old PC games still had a little life in them as well.

The rest of this list looks like old DS and Wii games that were going to get shut down anyway.

This (the PC part at least) is probably due to the Gamespy shutdown, which many of the games on that list used. EA doesn't want to come up with a fix for it so they just shut the games down.

I figured some of those games used Gamespy, but did Bulletstorm use it as well? I also doubt it was feasible for EA to patch the games since their not the latest thing, and I also heard on NeoGAF that it was downright impossible for anyone to keep online running on console games that used Gamespy, so certain PC games may be the same way.

I don't know about the console versions of Bulletstorm. I know the PC version uses GfWL as DRM though, so if it said PC instead of PS3 I'd understand it considering GfWL is going down too, but it says PS3 so I have no idea. Maybe they used Gamespy instead since they couldn't use Live of any sort on PS3?

They gave BF 1942 away for free on Origin in the middle of last month and now they shut down the servers.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

EA haven't shut down the servers, Gamespy has... An entirely different company.

What EA *have* done is simply not supported the game any farther, there is a big difference.
