Forums - Nintendo - I still think that the real 3D Mario will be announced and released this year.

2015 at the earliest, is my estimate, the real 3D mario games take so much polish

It'l be next year. They just released a Mario. It'' be shown in 2015 and be released in 2016, a year after the new Zelda. Nintendo will most likely spread their games out to give them some time.

I can't stand the term "real" 3D Mario. What the heck is a "real" 3D Mario? A Mario that fits your tastes? Just because you don't like the design choices made the developers doesn't mean it's a "fake" 3D Mario lol.

Anyway, we probably won't see the next 3D Mario until 2015.

Bets:

1. If the Wii U sells closer to 10 million LTD by 1/3/2015 I win. If it sells closer to 9.5 million LTD by 1/3/2015 OfficerRaichu15 wins (winner gets 2 weeks of avatar control)--Lost.

I've had this thought as well. It's just unbelievable that EAD Tokyo has been sitting on their hands for 7 years while EAD Tokyo 2 has produced 3 full Mario games and more. I'm not as confident as you, but I'd say there is a good chance of it. I'd say 75% or so.

Will be shown this year (probably) but I doubt it will be released this year. They need some AAA games for the next year and a brand new 3D Mario game is perfect

Its unlikely. The team that has been making them just released a game last december. They cant make a new Mario game in 1 year.

Doesnt mean that a new 3D Mario isnt coming, but definitly not this year.

Maybe they want a epic adventure with open worlds. 3D World is the most fun Mario game of all time in my opinion, but it doesn't have the epicness of the Galaxy games or the openness of Sunshine or 64.

No. They simply don't have the resources. In 2015 - maybe.

That's not true. The team that made SM64, Sunshine, and Galaxy 1 hasn't made a new core game since Galaxy. The guys who made Galaxy 2, 3DL and 3DW are a completely separate team.
