Forums - PC - buying a cheapass wireless adapter

Don't ask me how, but i managed to break the wireless adapter of my laptob.
Now I don't really play games on it, but i require it for certain tasks that revolve around having internet so i need an adapter.
Now the question is 150mbps or 300 mbps or even 600 mbps or are these speeds only important when networking?
point being the costdifference is almost a crate of beer

What can your router handle? What's your internet bandwidth?

In the end these numbers don't mean shit if the adapters are cheap, your router is cheap or your environment is wireless hostile.

How did you break your wireless adapter on your laptop? (I am a rebel)

I say get either an wireless N or if you want something more "futureproof," get one thats wireless AC! Its a bit more expensive but you can get up to 1000-1400 mbps provided your router is capable!! And before you say, lolz ISPs, Its great for filesharing through the network!!!

Oh and if you want to full bandwidth of wireless N, make sure you get one adapter that has "MIMO" labeled somewhere

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Are u running an "n" gateway docsis 3?

I have a crappy outdated laptop and my wireless adapter does work either, try medialink, it's only $20

Or buy a longass ethernet cable?

I would go for the beer.. f the internet..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

I cleaned it while not being focused, I just realised even the 150 mbps should be enough to keep up with the speed my ISP delivers thus saved myself another few beers
