okay, 500k vs. 3 million.

All I see for their E3 lineup are a bunch of ports, remakes, reboots, or sequals. There's maybe two or 3 new original titles only, and I'm sick of their PS4 upgrading of PS3 games. Microsoft seems to have a more varied lineup, more original content, more surprises and just generally overall more appealing lineup. I still don't have either of the next gen consoles but at this rate, by the time Dragon Age Inquisition comes out, I'll probably lean more towards the Xbox One than PS4. Don't want more Uncharted, more God of War, more of the same. Want new, original content. |

PS3 had free online multiplayer for almost all of its games, so is that coming to PS4 next year as well? I think both companies are going to have many great exclusives but you can't really predict what Microsoft is going to do based on last generation because history doesn't always repeat itself. We have a very different situation this time around in which the console doesn't have a one year advantage, superior versions of many multiplats, etc. We have a Microsoft that will have to work hard for Xbox One sales and the only realistic way of making it a close race again is through aggressive price cuts and a very strong exclusive lineup. I have no idea how hungry they actually are to make that happen and I don't think many people outside of Microsoft know either. |
Sony adapted to the world without free online gaming in the west as Microsoft has manipulated it. Right or wrong I knew I had to give up complaining about it because Microsoft won that decsion and Sony made their decsions based on where people put their money. Microsoft adapted to the fact that they couldn't control PC gamers with paid online, but adapted to the fact that they could control them if they control the hub of community gaming, which is the Xbox. Sony learned that free wont get them anywhere in this competitive climate that Microsoft had ushered the gaming industry into from the PC realm. Footing the bill for online became the peoples problems rather than the third parties who make the game.
'I can predict Microsoft, because they are predictable. Sony is a company that you WE KNOW internally can handle itself, but we do not know what they will put out for better or worse. It doesn't matter if you're into their games or not. Microsoft has proven time and time again and even media outlets have spoken out about their weak internal conceptual and development process that they've had since joining the console industry in 2000/2001. They will continue to be weak until they create companies who can build games on their own.
Sony evolves internally and continues to create. Their methods of survival during the PS3 era differed highly from the PS2 era because they realized the third parties were not going to be enough to fend them off from Microsoft who was going to try to level the playing field. Microsoft tends to mostly buy out other peoples stuff, so that leads them to hinder internal growth. They can buy as many companies as they want, but either those companies put up or shut up and in fifteen good years of being in the industry (soon) they are still only as good as a less than a handful. This is why Microsoft paid Double Helix to handle Killer Instinct. This is why Microsoft pays Capcom for their Dead Rising game. This is why Microsoft pays to get the constant edge on Sony instead of doing it themselves. If they had the ability and creativity, their future would be less predictable than even Sony whom has put out numerous amounts of products for better or worse. I say its about time Sony started looking outward like MS like they are doing now and filling in gaps with third party as well.
Microsoft knows that the first impression is the best one, which is why you see such a massive amount of games being laid on the table from other people. Microsoft knows that people mostly by consoles for third parties, so they picked and chose from the third parties. Its Sony who has to adapt to Microsoft and everytime they do they get stronger as a creative entity. All Microsoft had to do to Sony from the start was take third party exclusivity from them to level the playing field for the 360's generation.
Not that I am judging the op.For some reason I think this was done intentionally.Either that or what you said earlier the op does not know how forums work.
well said i know a lot of people don't realize how nonsensical that statement was xD

naruball said: I see. In that case, you most certainly cannot guarantee that Sony had similar plans,as you stated. As I suspected. Of course Sony forced MS to drop their initial policies. That does not mean Sony did have similar plans. Yes, this is a forum and we make predictions and have theories. However, it's one thing to present a theory and a completely different to say "I guarantee it", since you have absolutely no evidence to support this. Had an EA representative said "Sony ensured us that they would have x policies and then change their minds", then you would have a case. At the moment, there is nothing to suggest that. As for the exclusives. Piss poor? Well, you're entitled to your own opinion, but just because you find these games "piss poor", it doesn't mean that it represents the general consensus. It's also not a proper argument. Because following this logic I can call anything I want as "garbage" and get away with it. "MS exclusives? Meh. They all suck" (based on what?). The only game that could be considered "piss poor" is Knack. Killzone and Infamous have had overall positive reviews. And that does not even include non-retail games that are considered excellent (such as resogun). Again, just because you don't like them, it doesn't mean they're "piss poor". Here's what's factually incorrect with your previous post. Please read again what you wrote: "I don't know if Sony can even recover at this point" "I think Sony stabbed third parties in the back this gen" "Either third parties have no choice but to go back and develop for Sony, or they continue throwing tonnes of exclusives at Microsoft" Please give some examples of Third parties turning their back on Sony. Which third party game is not being released on ps4 which could be interpreted as them turning their back on Sony? Which are these "tonnes of exclusives" that they will continue throwing at MS? Had you said that about wiiu, it would make sense. Most Ea games are skipping wiiu. To my knowledge not a single game is not being released on ps4 that is not part of a deal that MS has made with a developer. So what exactly do you mean by "go back" and "recover"? They never left. |
Found this after 3 seconds of looking.

this is after one minute of looking
So now we have Edge a respected media outlet and PS4daily.com a sony fanboy website saying the same thing...
Sony exclusives being piss poor is not an opinion. There have been major complaints with every exclusive so far... I don't actually think theres a single exclusive yet that Sony can hang their hat on and say "this is why you want a PS4." Their best game scores at the low 80s on metacritic.Hell, the highest rated games are ones that no one even cares enough to mention.

Everything at the top is either borrowed from other platforms or indie. With the exception of an MMO you can get on the PC and a baseball game. I wouldn't call either of those system sellers. Especially since you a hardcore Sony fan don't care enough to mention the PS4's best games, why should I count them.
Those three quotes of mine don't have a factual statement in them. They all start out with terms similar to "I think". Please look up the word think and fact in the dictionary. You can come back when you no longer believe those two words represent the same thing.
Here's a fact check of my own so you can learn to argue properly.
One if a person states something as fact then you can counter it with counter-evidence of your own.
Two if nothing has been stated as fact, you can state your own opinion on what will happen and why you think that.
All I did was represent an opinion which I feel strongly about. You haven't disproven a damn thing so stop acting like you have because it's physically impossible until E3 comes around.

Y'know these systems aren't really worth getting until E3 anyway...the highest games between them are ports.
I havin't seen any complaints about the PS4 games other than the "More indies? c'mon Sony we want more AAA's" bitchfest.
Besides, the biggest game on the Xbox One right now can also be bought on the 360 and PC.

You are always gonna be able to buy Xbox exclusives on the PC and 360. Microsoft just doesn't care enough to really push their platform.
Of course they aren't worth getting early. I'm a Wii U owner. My original opinion I think was that you should wait until E3 because I strongly suspect that Sony won't have the winning console advantage everyone thinks they are going to have. However I didn't want an enormous wall of text so I deleted everything but the most recent part.
The complaints were more that things like Infamous 2 and Metal Gear were supposed to be bigger titles and they barely crack 80 on metacritic.
