It's actually a real problem. Everyone is complaining about games having less and less content. What if this becomes the default excuse for developers?

 

I wonder how they solved those problems during the PS1 era... oh yeah... multiple discs.

It was seen a sign of quality when a game had multiple discs.

Like it was a sign of quality if your cassette player could play forwards and backwards. But sadly these aren't the 90s anymore and multiple discs are a no-go in the digital age. They were outdated since Gen 6.



If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

They seem very much a go to me. Still selling lots of millions. Hardrives just would never be enough without them.

Yeah I'm afraid we may be back to multiple discs this gen :-/ haven't done that since the PS1 days and not looking forward to it at all

Maybe end of June with a bundle announced at E3. This will coincide with the tail end of the Watch Dogs bundle.

It would also be a great way of advertising the bundle to a huge audience.

But isn't the PS4 able to read Blu-Ray XL discs or can the drive not read more than two layers? De BD-XL disc was introduced in 2010 so you would think Sony have made the PS4 compatible, and BD-XL discs can pack 100gb of data on three layers or 128gb with four.

If that isn't possible they could also try dubble sided discs. One side for install and the other for playing.

June would be a good time to release - original released then, and could also help PS4 keep some momentum...

That's too bad. I had a torrent of nostalgia everytime Lost Odyssey forced me to swap discs :P

 

And as I've heard, the new Wolfestein game will pull a Lost Odyssey again xD
