Do these companies never learn?

Nope, it's 100% possible to remove all traces of stuff from the internet! My banned forum account from SW:ToR's site showed me that, now there is no more bad news about that game going around!

You mean, besides the fact that its run by EA? They can never delete those bad news.

Don't worry, it will be F2P in 6 months!

And that is probably the reason for the delay. I would love to believe that they would remake it like Squeenix did FFXIV and for the better. But, western companies dont seem to believe such a thing as fixing a mistake. You must try to hide it as hard as you can.

They confirmed it. Damn. Well I guess Dragon Age will be the first big next gen RPG then.

Good thing we get nothing all summer, as usual, and every game EVER condensed into October and Early November.

I know everyone rags on this game but I was really hyped for it. It's one of the reasons I went next gen.

My excited like a little kid before Christmas countdown just went: 6 months...3 months.... 2 months!!! 6 weeks!!!!

6 months again.....

Fuck.

Realm Reborn is kind of boring me to be honest. I'm not saying it's not a great game, just that I had put a 100 hours into it last year and another 100 on PS4 now. The endgame kind of scares me off and while I was working on getting a WHM up to 50 after doing some of the tougher dungeons now I find healing too stressful.

The only REAL next gen is PC's.  My pc hardware is closing in on 2 years old and I run ESO at 1080p 60+ fps on highest settings.

I love consoles too (only for exclusives), but these wars between PlayStation and Xbox fans are hilarious.... both systems have less power than my computer and not only can I do far more with my computer, but I also have access to 1,000,000 + games.

Stop hating and start playing.

I did the PC thing for a while but I've always preferred consoles. The industry caters to consoles and I like the simplicity and uniformity.

Gen's have never been about solely power.

Also PCs are generalization-less. There is no unfied pc manufacturer, they aren't dedicated gaming machines, all their is vendors and part manufactuerers.

also...no GTA V ;)

Consoles are also optimized better. The fact that the 9 year old xbox 360 can even run Battlefield 4 shows that.

As far as Elder Scrolls Online the graphics have absolutely nothing to do with my desire to play it. Honestly Skyrim looks better.

I have always disliked mmorpgs, and that is probably putting it lightly, but for a moment I may have been sort of maybe interested in this one, if only in that I have come to somewhat trust bethesda to deliver a sprawling, epic (if somewhat buggy) experience. The more I hear about the game, however, the more I am glad I stuck to my abject hatred.

I share your sentiment.

This was supposed to be the WOW killer, the redefining game of the genre.

Instead we got a WOW clone in a ES themepark.

Hahahahaah WoW Clone...If it would have been one with 300 Million+ $ Budget it would have had any chance on the MMORPG but ESO is just PURE Garbage and everyone with experience in the Genre would have known that.
People always think the genre needs something new...People just want the Burning Crusade Experience back!

So at first i will ask you this..
What is your experience in the MMORPG Genre?Mine consists of many MMORPGs before WoW and 7 years HARDCORE Raiding IN WoW and playing since the earliest available Beta while testing every damn MMORPG to the fullest in the past few years since WoW got released when we cleared the available Content and waited for more.

What made WoW so survivable on the market?
ENDGAME -    E N D G A M E   and the sheer amount of Content they pushed out over the YEARS ( remember this)
The sheer amount of ways to play the game - From Casual to Hardcore Raiding. And over the time every angle of competitive PvP in many different ways.
The GOOD used amount of time you could put into WoW without really hitting a wall most of the time.
Exceptions are obviously if you are raiding in a top raiding guild or at the end of an addon like people experience at the moment.
Of course the quality of WoW went down a lot after Sunwell aka the end of Burning Crusade but it still was the only MMORPG with a lot of content.

Now back to ESO
ESO was never ever a challenger or fresh wind for the Genre which has probably as many low quality games as the FPS Genre.
But to make MMORPGs great you have to put a lot more in to make it great and make people play it after the first FREE month aka when people should start to pay for a subscription.
ESO did nothing of what is the expected standard in the Genre and what would motivate people to keep going and you could see that in the Alpha/Beta already.Zenimax didn't focus on the important parts a MMORPG should have directly from the damn start.
As a MMORPG it is utter garbage and probably as a ES Game it isn't that great either.

I give you insight of my and many other peoples experiences with ESO
I got the 5 days Headstart - 2 days later i hit level 50 and were done with the game - The End of ESO.
The time could be different for people but you could see a lot of other streamers and people experience the same in the first 7 days.

What should keep you playing?
The game has absolutely no Endgame - The PvP is a complete joke and doesn't have the slightest sign of a competitive nature.
Everyone there is playing for their own good and not working together.
There is not even the possibility to work together in like Battlegrounds or Arena Matches.
Yeah the PvP they have is fun...for like 1 day and then you ask "Well there isn't really a need to and no reward at all"

The game itself isn't really designed around Grouping or anything at all.
The few dungeons you visit while leveling are low quality and after you cleared them once you probably won't visit them again cause there is no reason to.
There is no real gear progression.

BUT BUT THE VOICED OVER QUESTS AND OTHER STUFF TO MAKE THIS GAME A REVOLUTION!!!
Yeah well - No one cares.
Instead of > Here go grab 5 apples and bring them to Henry you have
Long long ago in a mystic > blablabla 5 minutes later <  grab 5 apples - You just wasted 5 damn minutes which could bring you closer to challenging Endgame...oh wait this is ESO.
Where did the 300 Million $ go?Graphics aren't great - No Endgame and everything else is pretty much standard. So they wasted that for quests no one will care for a few hours later?
So where is the content?(remembered) - WoW set a damn standard for the genre and has many many years of content advantage.
So as a new MMORPG you need to have at least Content worth 2 big patches directly from the start to keep people going...just for endgame of course.

Why aren't they talking about subscription numbers?
Were they either low to begin with or is the game dead now after the first FREE month was done?
People want ONE thing in a MMORPG - The possibility to keep playing for a long long time.
And having the expectation of a game to be a "WoW Killer" while not meeting the easiest standards is just insane.
The game wouldn't get any attention if it wouldn't have the Elder Scrolls Name - The same goes btw for the Stars Wars The Old Republic MMORPG a few years ago.
They went the same direction with all that unneeded story garbage BUT they had Raids...Sadly those raids were designed for people with down syndrome.
The only challenge the game had was the Nightmare Mode of one boss and even that wasn't really a hurdle for a long time.
But for their defend they said they wanted to give new players to the genre an easy access....well too easy at the end and people were done before the first month was finished.

Now i give you the name of a serious WoW Competitor - Not killer. No one will ever kill WoW except for Blizzard.
But Wildstar is since Burning Crusade the first serious competitor in terms of quality and amount of Content and its challenge.
Wildstar STARTS with Challenging dungeons, group Quests,Open World Bosses,Rated PvP of all kinds and the most important thing for a MMORPG > Difficult Raids > 20 Man Raid to unlock a 40 man Raid with tons of challenges inside of those encounters comparable to Ulduar as it sounds in terms of mechanics.
1 mistake can wipe the whole raid or the whole group in a 5 man dungeon
mimimimi no one has the time and blablaba...People did have the time back then in WoW and people were willing to learn.Even Casual Raids liked to master those challenges cause Casual doesn't mean "idiot" > It means less raiding days to defeat the challenges ahead but over time they will do that.
Blizzard changed that with WoW when they introduced Normal and Hardmodes and went even soft sometimes with the latter cause IDIOTS complained.
Well...

All of that content directly to the start
High End WoW Raiding Guilds are recruiting currently  with the ambition to go Hardcore in Wildstar cause it gives them the possibility to do so.
( https://www.facebook.com/KungenGaming/posts/391642317641475 > Yes Kungen wants to build up a new Nihilium and many other active ProGuilds want to recruit.Who is Kungen?Nihilium?Get out and never talk about anything MMORPG related cause you were never that deep in the genre!)
How does this affect the casual player who doesn't have the time to raid 7 times a week?
If there is Content for Hardcore Gamers there will be even more Content for Casuals seeking for a challenge - And there are many of them cause a lot of former WoW players wanted their beloved game back and with WoD taking some time many will look into Wildstar.
Wildstar offers people Content to keep the players hooked up - PvE and PvP are covered to get played Casual and Hardcore while being rewarding for both.
And obviously Housing is just insanely good implemented into the game.

The MAGIC FORMULA!!!
Yeah it is the same of the well known we experienced years ago with many additions but this is exactly what the majority of MMORPG interested people want in their subscription based MMORPG.
And guess what?Carbine has already Content for the next 16 months in the work. They want people to get hooked unlike Zenimax which were in for the quick money of an overpriced game which doesn't offer anything.

ESO was meant to be the next Star Wars but not some Genre defining MMORPG.
Wildstar is far closer to be genre defining with its Housing System and how they handle the Endgame.
And as far as i can see everyone playing and getting excited for Wildstar has a history in MMORPGs,wants some challenge and hopes Blizzard steps their game up by 11 and steals a lot of the features.
Cause Wildstar is the first MMORPG Blizzard can seriously call a competitor for their own game.

I never said it was a succesful WOW clone, since pretty much every mmo that has tried to be an WOW has failed.
Thus the Genre is the most stagnant in the whole of the gaming industry.

Cause WOW being the pinnacle of the Genre is evident that nothing has really changed.

And normally I am opponent of innovation as opposed to improvement/perfection but the fact that WOW is still the dominant MMO, means that it does what it does best. And you yourself even said that. In this scenario, the need for innovation is dire. The only "new" thing I got from playing the mmo was the free movementI actually saw this in a FTP though I played it a while back. Nothing in this game save for the ESO world is new or even done relatively well.
