EA has confirmed it will continue its partnership with Respawn Entertainment, following the release of Xbox exclusive shooter Titanfall in March.

Speaking during the company's Q4 financial briefing, EA chief executive Andrew Wilson said the pair are working on "new Titanfall experiences," but stopped short of mentioning specific platforms or products.

"We're excited to announce that EA is continuing its partnership with Vince Zampella and his Respawn Entertainment team, building on our success in delivering Titanfall, the biggest interactive entertainment event in the year so far," Wilson told investors in a conference call.

"Through a new policy agreement, we will be working with Respawn to bring new Titanfall experiences to players worldwide."

Titanfall released for Xbox One and PC in March and, according to EA, sold through about 925,000 units in North America during the quarter, which ended March 31.

An Xbox 360 version of the game released in April.

In March multiple sources claimed that EA had won the rights for a Titanfall sequel, based on the positive performance of the first game.

One report claimed that Titanfall 2, unlike the first game, would not be tied to an Xbox exclusivity deal and thus could release on PlayStation formats.

An EA representative commented at the time: "We do not comment on rumor or speculation. Right now all our focus is on supporting all the fans worldwide enjoying Titanfall."

Asked in October 2013 whether Respawn would eventually make games for PS4, studio head Vince Zampella said: "Of course we will, just not the first Titanfall."

And the following month, EA chief financial officer Blake Jorgensen said: "We'll find I'm sure that there will be future Titanfalls at some point that may be on multiple product platforms."

Awesome to read that after the sales disaster that was the first Titanfall, they've come together and found a way to get more approved. EA really going out on a limb here, bravo.

2016 at the earliest would be my best guess, assuming EA isn't still holding to their Battlefield/Titanfall/Battlefront cycle they discussed.

Not if you read threads here about the sales of the first one. Apparently they're so patheticaly low and such an epic failure that EA is apparently too shamed and embarrassed to give out the numbers and yet.. multiple sequels.

Really? I don't recall anyone here saying that EA was too ashamed to release numbers.

That's impossible, I was told here by numerous users who don't own the game that the game is a failure. I don't know what to believe now!

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Didn't see that massive thread where people noticed how quiet EA was where as Sony quickly announced Infamous sales? People.......jumped to conclusions

Link me 1 comment saying it's sale are "pathetically low" ^^ Go on, i dare ya.

TF was certainly a success in its own right, but it's pretty obvious it didn't hit everyone's expectations. I still have that 2.5 million thread tagged :P

Hurray another titanfall thread where fanbases call each other out -___-'
Very sad.
