I guess today is PES 2015 vs Fifa 15 day...
That said I've heard people complaining about how FIFA 15 doesn't change much from 14. Also, if FIFA 15 is the better soccer game, why did PES 2015 come away with the best sports award in Gamescom?
Ka-pi96 said:
Just a guess... but I think it's because whoever gave out the award are Konami/Kojima fanboys... |
Very unlikely... People who went to Gamescom were surprised at how well PES played out and at the fact PES beat out FIFA in the "Best Sports Game" award. I'm pretty confident that if gamers play both games without being told which one is which, they'll choose PES mainly because of more fluid gameplay and better graphics shading. Then again, that's just my hunch.

Not if they are a fan of most English or German teams. Because I'm sure people would rather play as their favourite teams rather than teams like 'Merseyside Red' or 'London FC'. Or in the case of Germany... most teams aren't even in the game... |
Well again... if the number of teams was so important, why did PES 2015 still win in Gamescom? If it was such a big deal, FIFA would win hands down, no contest. There may be less people who prioritize the number ot teams over gameplay and graphics than you think.
Should have just called Driveclub a new Gran Turismo. The brand name would have helped it sell a lot more units. What's the point of Sony having 2 racing sim franchises?
Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
Ka-pi96 said:
Nope, there really isn't. The fans are the ones that want real teams and every year FIFA sales eclipse PES sales. It will happen again this year as well |
PES 2015 is the series' first current gen iteration (so duh! on the sales department) and has vastly improved over its predecessor. I have only seen marginal improvements between FIFA iterations. Also, PES looks good on the Fox Engine and I can't wait to see how PES will look once Konami gets the gist of it. Being a real fan =/= blind acceptance. You gotta give credit where credit's due and PES 2015 deserves more credit than FIFA

It's not sim though, far from Gran Turismo in terms of handling sophistication and realism. I agree they could have used the brand name and call it Gran Turismo: Easier and on Time or something
But maybe it's better not to diminish the brand.
So it is happening...PS4 preorder.
Greatness Awaits!

differences between fifa for the last few years havent been all that much, give any gamer who has played fifa for a while PES they will know instantly.

eh, new defense system? You mean tactical defending? I agree that it sucks, but it isn't new. It's been around since FIFA 12 |
Yes pretty much the tactical defence system that is forced on online play. On Fifa 14 I was pretty decent but on Fifa 15 i'm pretty much getting crushed most of the time :/. But it's just not the defense. Things like player swamping feels unaccurate and the supposed improved goalkeeper can be a real idiot sometimes..

Yeah, that's what I've been saying here and in the PES thread. Considering the marginal improvements in FIFA and EA's habits of handling their franchises, the series has a relatively low ceiling. PES, on the other hand, has a lot more potential. And it's not just because of the Fox Engine, but also the fact that Konami isn't EA. I feel that Konami is really stepping up to the plate with MGSV: The Phantom Pain and Silent Hills. Now, PES 2015 is starting to follow suit. Already, PES looks graphically better than FIFA. Just imagine how much better it'll look in future releases on top of improvements in other attributes of the game.
