Why do people keep saying 2014 is impossible?

Don't know. Skyward sword was out 2011, so 3 years is small time for Nintendo and Zelda, but in their position they could gather themselves up.

3 years is the USUAL time for a zelda. plus, iwata mentioned keeping the 3 year dev cicle for zelda a long time ago and we know the game could have been shown last year. like I said many times, it could be a 2015 title but most things point to 2014.

"The art style does not strictly follow the 2011 tech demo"
downgrade confirmed.

Let's check your mistakes.

1. The zelda demo for wii u was a tech demo for the console, not a reveal of zelda for wii u. thus it isn't a downgrade if zelda for wii u looks wrose.

2. You must be confusing nintendo for most other companies. It is guaranteed that zelda for wii u will look better than that tech demo, if nintendo's history means anything.

I was thinking the same thing. Half a year of conceptualizing and 2 and a half of development after Skyward Sword seems a reasonable amount of time to me.

Though I question if it's a good idea to put Smash and Zelda this holiday if it turns out this is true.

bold: definetely, zedla + mario kart + smash in the same year = glory

Zelda WiiU

That's all I'm personally saying about the 2014 release, at least.

end of 2014 = 3 year dev cycle.

3 year cycle is what nintendo is aiming.

the game could have been shown last year.

nintendo says they don't want to announce games far before their releases.

I would never want a Zelda game to take 150 hours. Maybe they meant to say 15. Yes, that must be it...

I imagine much of that time will be from full exploration and sidequests (if true ofcourse)

I'd get sick of the game long before then. 100+ hour playthroughs should be reserved for MMOs only: I've sunk more than that into several games, but usually over multiple playthroughs. I already felt Twilight Princess dragged on for too long at the mid-40's: tripling that sounds bad.

it depends. xenoblade took me 120 lovely hours while exploring everything and doing most sidequests. if the content is there, you can play for 100+ hours and still ask for more.

I want this to be true. I would just buy a second Wii U and give it to someone.

But most likely a fake.
Also SSB and ZeldaU together is not real They would do the same that they did with SM3DW+DKU, and push one of them to 2015. The problem is that both are great holyday titles, wate one of them in february is non-sense.

There's literally NOTHING about those rumors I don't absolutely love. If all that is true this truly could be the best Zelda game since OoT, no hyperbole this time.

Seems to be what every Zelda fan has been asking for and it comes out this year.

Idk it seems way to good to be true.

Slowpoke! My Xenoblade playthrough totalled just under 90 hours, complete with beating all the superbosses. It would have been closer to 80, but a few of the collectibles literally took hours to acquire (I'm looking at YOU, Rainbow Slugs!)

Welp, after today numbers and forecast this rumor get crashed.
