Maybe if 360 didn't get the Kinect reinvigoration effect

Not a chance.
Unlike last gen, there is a clear power difference between the xbone and ps4 along with many exclusive xbox devs now going multiplatform.
Also, the power is really crap which is going to make it age very, very quickly. To put it in perspective, the Xbone has the power of a gpu from 4 and a half years ago. Tablets will catch up to the xbone given a few years which will make the xbone look like a waste of money. The PS4 won't be far behind it, but those few years lag will be quite a lot more sales.

Even then I think the power of the xbone has not been enough to get people interested in it. Everyone I know who owns one has almost shelved it. The games are pretty much the same and can't really improve due to the lack of power it has.

It's not impossible, but nothing thus far has suggested it's likely to happen.

No.. Shorter gen, harder competition, no year head start, not cheaper......

I just think that shows the flaw in trying to use poll results to prove a point. I wouldn't be surprised if 25% of responders being a joke were the norm.

Nah, it will reach ~60-70 mil, but I doubt it goes over, the 360 benefited from a year's head start and a disastrous PS3 launch. Neither of those happened this time around, and while the Xbone may have had a better start than the 360, it could see a huge drop-off with the majority of the consumer base migrating to the PS4.

Nah, X360 was a one hit wonder for MS because Sony messed up and handed it to them. Once Sony got it together in 2009 they have outsold Xbox consoles every single year since. With no power, price or release advantage this time around it will be hard for them to compete for the console audience and they will lose a lot of sales to Sony this time around. Hell, even CoD sold better on PS4 last holiday and that was MS's bread and butter through the years with those bundles..

Unless Microsoft creates another "Kinect" like device that brings the casual games in near the end of the One's life, I don't see the One pushing past 360 sales.
