With more reports, this might catch steam. I can see a MMO being much popular on PS3 than 360 due to PS3's online. I don't wanna pay for 2 different online stuff on a console.

Thanks for the link, although an interview from more than 1 years ago can hardly be taken too seirously, Things change. and name-calling? Well, that's mature. |
There was a more recent interview which is where the thing about them not having decided on a name came from: http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=16371
November 27, 2007. Haeresis was trademarked in 2006 so they already decided on that one long ago.

Here's early footage of the game for people that care, granted,it probably looks nothing like this since this was pre-white engine.

I should learn how to read shouldn't I! I totally missed that. My bad. I will see if I can find anything more recent.
We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls. The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke
It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...." Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
I don't see anything definitive either way, so I agree that it is all speculation at this point. I wish the article here would have cited a source.

If it weren't speculation, it would be on the front page of Joystiq, Kotaku, Destructoid, 1up, and IGN in giant red lettering right now. You wouldn't need to do extensive searches around the corner of the web -- if this is ever officially announced, this would be a big deal, and wouldn't be relegated to second hand, second tier sites.

Of course that doesn't matter because I have the funny feeling we won't see it until mid 2010 at the earliest. That being said, I'm actually optimistic about this. I love FFXI and if they just make an updated FFXI I'll be happy (though sadly I doubt they will do just that). |
FFXI came to the PC almost a year before seeing PS2. I can still remember dreading all the noobs that where going to join us FFXI vets. New FFXI I heard about long ago, I think thats definatly killed off. Makes me sad actually.
Yea I can see it coming to PC first then them working out all the bugs alot easier than if they brought it right over to the PS3 then added crap tons of patches.
