Everytime I see this thread, the resolution increases xD

Maybe it will eventually reach 1080p!

This is possible but thankfully everyone who cares about graphics that much has a gaming PC right? I mean, I've learned that everyone in gaming forums could play Titanfall on PC so they don't need a console for a game which is also on PC. And if that is even close to the truth tgan people who care much about graphics have 100% a decent PC

Because expecting a certain level of graphical quaity on a 500$ next gen console is insane, right?

Just because a game is on a console doesnt mean we shouldnt give a shit about graphics, esecially since PS4 is producing some of the best looking software out there and is more capable than a majority of gaming PC right now...

is there a particular reason why people are bothering with pixel counting on a trailer with no actual gameplay footage?

Uhh, there's tons of gameplay footage. Wow. And cutscenes are important too anyway. They're in engine anyway.

Really? direct me to a single frame of the video that shows the actual first person view with a UI.

first person view camera does not equate to gameplay.

Many scenes are clearly gameplay.

Some of them are QTE's, but there is scenes with guns in FPS view too (like the scene with the orange lasers all over). The battleship shot is another one of gameplay.

Other than the spacey cutscenes, most of the rest look like QTE's or gameplay with the character model in third person view which is common for trailers.

If it wasn't gameplay why wouldn't it be in 1080P? Why would they make a trailer of tons of footage that wasn't gameplay or wasnt in the game? If it is in the game, then why shouldn't we determine the resolution? The resolution of cutscenes matters too. As the controversy over XB1 having 900P cutscenes in Toimb Raider proved.

Because the industry is shit scared of resolution based drama right now, if they released a trailer at 1080p and the game was released below that people would shit their cribs.

So they made all those assets and scenes for nothing? L-O-L.

Stop being silly. Your explanation is even sillier.

lucidium has a point...we shouldnt assume this is truly representative of in game gameplay until the game releases. We've been through this too often over the last couple of years. I would say its gotten even worse of late. Watchdogs, Ryse, Infamous, Driveclub etc. All had similar trailers and it was said to be in game. We all know how that turned out.

Hell Ryse and watchdogs had actual gameplay demos and it still wasnt truly representative of the final game.

The industry has done some dubvious things with trailers, its only natural to be a bit sceptical, even more so now.

Its not only about being scared but also about getting as much hype as possible. Games that look good graphical automatically have more hype. This has a direct impact on sales...

I understand bringing up Ryse and Watchdogs, but why Infamous and Driveclub?  From what I have seen, Infamous looks like they said it would. And Driveclub has actually seen improvements in the graphics department since it was first showcased. A much more obvious, and easily seen, showcase of trailer (demo in the case of a few One titles) and release differences would be Forza.

@ OP

I suppose this is going to add to resolution gate when it launches. Not really a big deal, now, just a constant reminder that MS is overcharging for weaker HW. Not sure why they didn't just leave the price at $450 after Titanfall released. I guess they just want to make a bigger splash out of the cut at E3.

eh i think hes just taking it as a personal attack rather than a casual and accurate observation.
