Try percentages.... Its easy to be out by 10 or 20k (or more) if the numbers are high enough... but when it only sells 2-3k they should be within 500 of each other. When the sales are very low, like 200-300 then you can forgive percentage errors due to the difficulties of handling tiny numbers, but over 1k per week and they should at least be in 20-30% of each other. I haven't got a calculator but MC seems to be nearly 75% higher than Famitsu. (and doing it the other way round Fam is near 40% lower than MC)

Meh. The PS3 sales will increase because of the releases of the Yakuza Prequel and to a much lesser extent Valkyrie of the Battlefield. Both by Sega too.

The Nintendo Wii Sells better than the DS in that place...

6 games on the nintendo consoles and handhelds and 4 on the sony's
in the top ten best games sold in that place...

@TWRoO: Actually its a combination of both. Because they extrapolate sales, the smaller the overall number sold, the more prone the equations are to being off since small base size effects start taking over.

Anyone else noticed that DMC4 is number 9 on MC but Number 11 on famitsu?

@dsoverpsp. That place?... it has a name you know. @darconi... Yes I know, percentage-wise the higher numbers will be closer together, but the 8k difference for PSP is less odd than a 2k difference for 360. To me anyway.

Since in next 3 weeks coming 3 japanese oriented games(LP, ES, J3).

But yeah, not the best week for ps3 in japan,
x360 well, pathetic like laways. =))

Gran Turismo 3 - 1,06 mln. in 3 weeks with around 4 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Gran Turismo 4 - 1,16 mln. with 18 mln. PS2 on the launch.

Final Fantasy X - around 2 mln. with 5 mln. PS2 on the launch.
Final Fantasy X-2 - 2.4 mln. with 12 mln. PS2 on the launch.

 

1.8 mln. PS3 today(2008.01.17) in Japan. Now(2009.04.30) 3.16 mln. PS3 were sold in Japan.
PS3 will reach 4 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 25k.

PS3 may reach 5 mln. in Japan by the end of 2009 with average weekly sales 50k.
PS2 2001 vs PS3 2008 sales numbers =) + New games released in Japan by 2009 that passed 100k so far
