Well, I live in Germany, I think there are enough companies who helped to get Germany out of the shit.

Both companies have obviously done a lot "overseas" ...

...like resurrecting a dead market and creating the traditional third party system for Nintendo or Sony´s countless technological contributions like the CD format, Blu-ray, the Walman etc.

They are both remarkable companys.

I can't be proud of something I didn't do. How can I be proud of what someone else achieved? I'm happy for him or the company but the people in that company should be proud for their hard work and not someone like me who never did anything for this company.

So, yes I'm very happy that we have some famous companies here but I'm not proud of them since they aren't a part of me.

It sort of works like an extended family. If a family member of mine achieved something big, I'd be proud. Even if I didn't know that person very well. Same thing goes for your country. You are proud that your compatriots are successful and have helped raise the status of your country.

I get where you're coming from though.

I think Siemens and some of the car manufacturers (Porsche, Volkswagen, Audi, Mercedes) would be the most well known examples.

Yeah, a pretty good example of a product which was a good help to increase the export was the VW Käfer or how other people call it, the "VW Beetle"
