Forums - Sony - Driveclub runs at 1080p 30fps

It is far too detailed to handle both on the PS4. Resolution and framerate are also affected by detail, lighting, anti-aliasing, textures and physics.

Then cut down on the detail. Gameplay > eye candy.

The detail doesn't affect gameplay. And Evolution Studio is known to make great racing games with gorgeous graphics. So I don't see the problem.

Btw in terms of what actually matters to the gameplay

Innovation > Repetition

DriveClub is clearly doing the former.

If it makes 30fps absolutely necessary, than yes it does. PS4 can still do great graphics at 1080p/60fps.

Where were you whene PGR/NFS/F:Horison released on last gen ?
Dont dare tell me " but it's last gen, 30fps was good" , with your logic, they could have made a much less beautiful game to reach 60 fps because 30 fps sucks.

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Show me where I said "30fps sucks".

So you chose to ignore the rest of my comment to prove your point. Fine, still getting the game Day 1.

Beautiful graphics at 1080p > 60 fps.

60fps is the magic ingredient that makes a game fun.

I'm sorry Uncharted 2... Seems like you're not a fun game after all. =(

In such game, most people look for more realism than on old gen, a huge gap, and they are right, you want, in such game, 60fps is just not more important than realism, so yes high realism fidelity ( including real time effects in the world and high graphic) justifies 30fps.

The rest of your comment wasn't really relevant to our discussion.

60fps gameplay > eye candy that doesn't affect gameplay. PS4 is fully capable of beautiful graphics at 1080/60fps.

Uncharted 2 is a high speed racer?
