1 frame difference, a higher resolution more than makes up that.

Where are you pulling this one frame difference from, your arse?

If you don't know stop commenting on why you think 60fps is good.

Says the guy who clearly hasn't got a clue what he's talking about.....

A high frame rate is massively important in a racing game, particularly when you're driving in cars that are actually fast. Sure it's not a huge deal if you're driving some slow ass truck around a track, but if you're in a race car and you're doing over 300km/h on a straight coming into a corner and brake even 5 metres too late, you're off the track and crashing or losing valuable time at the very minimum. At 30fps you're skipping over almost 3m of track per second when traveling at 300km/h. In other words, the odds are stacked against you from the start.

I always hear people say 60fps in a racer is essential. Interesting to see how this works out.

I'd definitely still prefer 720p@60fps (actually, if that res is supported, it should be able to run at 760p@60fps) for racers and any other fast-paced game.
Edit: But hey, I belong to teh Glorious PC Gaming Master Race , so, if a compromise is unavoidable, I can almost always choose the one that's best for my needs or my tastes.

if u really belong to teh glorious pc master race bullshit you know that is far from the truth. stop misleading the others. half of resolution doesnt mean half of framerate

Your imagination needs work.

Sales numbers back my claim. People should stop claiming consoles are a problem for PC. If weren't by console sales, most games simply wouldn't be made. If PC game sales were as high (and not just on 80% discount) as some people think they were, PC version would be the lead one. The ammount of effort a company puts on it is directly proportional to the financial return.

If it was 60 FPS people would have clapped and cheered. It being 30 people say its ok only arcade racer.

In all honesty the game looked ropey as hell from day 1. It looks average and will barely sell well, getting trounced by media. All the extra dev time for what? The devs said it was to make sure they 60 fps. That was obviously bull. The game was never going to be ready for Launch in the slightest.

1- Get your Eyes checked mate.

2- They never ever ever ever said that. infact they kept saying they are doing 30fps.

"In another comment, he also confirmed that the game won’t have a dynamic day/night cycle which changes according to the real time on your PlayStation 4. “We tested this because on paper it sounds really cool, but when you actually play at the real time of day for a while you lose a lot of the magic and diversity. We allow you to customise the start time and the time compression (time lapse) in every race you set up, so you have lots of flexibility yourself,” he revealed."

;)

Oh yes, sure. This sounds reasonable

Really, I don't know if you were registered here when Forza 5 was attacked but it was all about day/night cycle and now this. But as usual there will be close to no backslash for all the people who told us why DC was better...

No, I saw that, but I think the main reason for the attack was, aside from of course just finding flaws for the sake of finding flaws, that you have a set time of day for every track that can't be changed at all. In DC it apparently just doesn't change dynamically according to the real time but you can still set the time to whatever you want ingame.

I think it was gifs like this that made people hope:

More than worth it, 60fps vs 30fps is only a 1frame difference at best of seeing something when it gets close enough, higher resolution will let you see that same thing much sooner.

Too bad at 30fps your ability to respond at high speed is hampered by input delay.

1 frame difference, a higher resolution more than makes up that.

No what hes saying is 60 fps doesnt just affect what you see, it affects the input of controls as well. At 200 MPH @ 60 fps Your controller input is twice as accurate and twice as receptive too the gameplay your seeing. This is amplified if your using a Force feedback wheel.  @ 30 FPS the feedback too the wheel would be say every 10 metres of track. @ 60 FPS its every 5 metres of track. Allowing for much more refined feedback from bumps, curbs etc.

Allowing better control over the car and smoother adjustments.

Im referring to the bland gmeplay. Not the visuals. Of which im now unimpressed as is not 60 FPS. So th visuals arent impressin me either @ 30fps.

That applies to all games though.

The same could be said about the resolution too. @ 1080p you have 1920pixels of steering accuracy, in 720p you only have 1280 (ofcourse it differs slightly depending on the camera's movement).
