It may have the 50% market share at some point but if it will be able to double X1 sales is still not for sure.

This must also applies to Microsoft since they did say they were in it to win.

I think soon is probably a little optimistic. By years end wouldn't shock me. It really depends if M$ gets serious and drops the price officially to $399US to match the PS4. That price cut would change things up.

As far as Titanfall not doing much... Just the opposite, I know many people who bought the XB1 up to 3 months before Titanfall came out knowing that they wanted it. I think having the title in the game library only strengthens the reasons to buy XB1 now and in the future. Like most people know, very few people buy a console for just one game.

We have weekly threads of "why the xbox one will catch up and dominate" and "xbox one is actually more/or just as power ful than the PS4 with the cloud and DX12 you will see" written all over the place in forums and gaming sites (sometimes even repeated by the press)...

So we need an article plainly stating the obvious for those who have no grasp on reality, beyond internet.

They also took the time to demonstrate their games on PCs at last year's E3 so they all ran at 1080p/60fps with better effects... then proceeded to downplay graphics!

well, I agree with you, MS lost money with those moves, and though the Company is rich, nobody like to lose money in any business; the XBox brand is very important for MS, but it must be profitable.  But I still think that MS really had to do those moves, PS4 was selling twice as much as One in the global, the situation was a bit critical.    MS tried their move with this One with Kinect included in all box, and sell this 360 degrees entertainment system, they couldn't know that it wouldn't have had that success they were expecting.  The result in front of most gamers was a weaker and more expensive hardware, that's all.

Also, many many gamers were expecting more from One, most of all considering how much brilliant was the 360; yes, the 360, released 1 full year before the PS3 in NA and Jap and 16 months before in Europe, was roughly as powerful as PS3, but easier to develop for and by far a more balanced piece of hardware, and by far cheaper !!!  And what you have now ? After the beautiful 360 ??  A weaker, harder to develop for, more expensive package because MS wanted to put this Kinect into all boxes and try to keep the price enough competitive... ok, they tried, as I already said; they couldn't know, but I might say MS had something like the 'lack of good vision' when they conceived this One. Just my opinion.
