Forums - Gaming - My only problem with Nintedo...

I like Nintedo, basically the handhelds. So I bought a 3ds xl when pokemon x&y were released, I paid 40 euros for the game right?

Right....the thing is I don't ussually pay that much for games except for the ones I really want.(e.g. Ni No Kuni, The Last of Us and Pokemon y in 2013 and Dark Souls 2 in 2014 and I can't see any other game this year that will make me pay more that 40 euros)

For some reason Nintedo's

games, here in Greece, do NOT drop in price. Kingdom Hearts 3d, Pokemon,Fire emblem, all are priced 40-45 euros, just like when they lunched. This is not the case for ps3,xbox360 and pc games.

I really want to play Fire Emblem,Monster Hunter 4 next year,Bravely Default and more but  I'll probably won't cause they are too expensive for me and they are games I'm not confident in spending that much money on.

Sooooo.....I want to ask, is it like this everywhere?

It might be the case only in Greece idk...I'm really curious.

Pretty much. Nintendo games hold their value, probably because each series usually only gets 1 or 2 games each gen.

That said, any one of those games is probably worth your cash.

Thats not a Greece thing, thats a Nintendo thing. I've also been dissapointed after buying a 3DS XL on the fact there is no discont on even 2 year old games.

It's the same everywhere. We are all victims to Nintendo's awesome games

That's not true. I heard Nintendo is guilty of reharshing the same game over and over again.

This is exactly what I like about Nintendo. You dont feel like an idiot for paying 40 because the game wont suddenly drop to 10€ withing a week. So you can buy day1 without worrying about stuff like that.

Thats way better than the constant price drops which results in smart people waiting a year to get a game at 90% discount and then devs whining about noone buying their games for full price anymore.

That price dumbing resulted in me completely ignoring third party  games(excenpt Jrpgs) on consoles. I have 500+games on steam now because I paid like 5bucks for Farcry3 etc. NO way I will pay 60 anymore.

@Galaki

I know you're being facetious, but to answer the oft levelled criticism:

We are awaiting the 8th Mario Kart since 1992 (22 years), there have been 10 mainline Call of Duty games since 2003. (20 if you count mobile, handheld and gimped ports). 6 Assassin's Creed since 2007, again, not including handheld or mobile titles. 4 Gears of War since 2006. 8 Halo games since 2001. etc. etc. etc

I think it's safe to say that, by industry standards, Nintendo is far from guilty of rehashing the same game over and over (and that's without even touch perceived declines in quality).

Honestly, anyone who seriously argues that Nintendo just rehashes old games all the time is either mentally ill or a troll.

Like others have said it's the same everywhere.

They are rehashing their IPs, them having longer development cycles doesn't change that.

if you don't want to pay full price get them used.
