Have you (extensively) played Demon's Souls? That would be a possible explanation for your sentiments.

I hope you are wrong. In 4 days time my dedicated Dark Souls 2 weekend starts. Luckily the core of the game looks unchanged, and that's what it's about.

I think there is room if they do it right.  Stick to the nexus, longer areas, and other demon's souls unique stuff.  Then just do absolutily everything Dark Souls does better.

I am addicted as hell to it, but something is definately missing.  I would give DS2 a 9 and the other games a 9.5-10.

I only beat Demon's once, because I had to return the Ps3 which wasn't mine, but I do tend to invest time into games. Demon's isn't an exception.

Hey no tiers needed!  I am not even half way through my first playthrough!  I will say that it is seemingly getting better.  I just got through the Rat Vanguard's area and it finally felt like something I would see in the other games.

Maybe I spoke too soon!

OK, I've played it for 9 hours straight now. Getting my ass handed to me. Really liking it :)
