Was it a myth? I thought the Atari landfill was always seen as a fact.

Since the burial was first reported in the press, there have been doubts as to its veracity and scope, leading to a minority considering it an urban legend.

Its not surprising that people don't believe it.. its been 30 years ago and millions of cartridges sounds unreal..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Cool, I'll watch that documentary when it's released. Will be interesting.

Yep.

This feels like a solved X-Files case. Mulder and Scully would be proud.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

Why don't more companies do this with all their unsold units? It puts them more into shame and reminds them that their mistakes are still here with them, no matter how much they try to burry it.

I like this idea.

Was anybody here alive back in 1984?

This happened in 1982 same year the movie came out and yes I was alive then.

I would like to see a more substantial picture. Like one showing the thousand copies all piled up in the hole.

Okay.

I've always assumed that it was true because it's not important enough to lie about. I don't really care either way.

Damn, though, why is Centipede in there?

I actually remember getting E.T. for my Atari when I was a kid. E.T. was a HUGE phenomenon back then. I can still remember how frustrating it was. You really had no idea what you were doing. I'd rank it as the second worst video-game I've ever played.

Glad I never played it but I did get some E.T. merchandise back when the movie first came out.

They only showed 2. I want to see then entire pile.
