I hope you are right. We would benefit from it as gamers.

I really hope nintendo bounces back, but I doubt they'll get any where close to the marketshare they once enjoyed this gen. Next gen will probably be all streaming and portable from them...

I just dont see sony slowing down, especially in the financial situation they are in. Its upto MS and nintendo to catch up. Bailing early would just make them do even worse the generation after since customers would keep that in mind. |
Well 360 is on track to almost quadruple Xbox lifetime sales because MS decided to "flip the board". And Nintendo did the Wii approach because of PS2 success.
Winning while choking the life out of compeition makes them all the better for the next round

Yeah because people like staying loyal to products which got 'choked' by the competition and came to an early death.
The wii got choked for games and people rememberd that with the wii U and considering PS4 is much more popular than the X1 despite having mostly indie games. That says the trust is with them, not MS for how the last few years of 360 has been.
When a new gen launches, customers dont just forget about everything that happened before, they take it into account when deciding what to buy next time.
| sales2099 said: How original...... But seriously, the more PS4 wins, the more likely Nintendo and MS will "flip the board" and start new gens and leave Sony b3hind/cut PS4 legs short. Thought last gen lasted too long? lol won't be the case this gen if Sony keeps gaining marketshare at both competitors expense. |
Because this happens every generation.
@bold: This is quite literally the most ludicrous claim I have ever seen someone make when talking about consoles.
remember when Sega "flipped the board", they flipped themseleves out of the console realm.
@Italics: Wild Conjecture, the only thing stopping the competitors from selling is the combination of their lack of distinction from the market leader and lack of prowess in doing what the competiton can.
I'm tired of this shitty excuse that the PS4 should make itself worse so that the competitors can catch up. If they can't compete, that's their fault especially when Sony clearly the most finacially unstable of all of them.

X1 price parity with 3rd party games looking same could rebound it in na. But with ps4 better in eu and japan, its a lost cause imo.

Actually PS3 was outpacing 360 the whole gen...

Well the sales were still better than 360 when you comapre it like that. 360 was still a lot more successful either way.

That's what we call a spin.
