Forums - Gaming - Uncharted 4 Delayed/Rebooted to 2016??

Nope. It wont get delayed. Plus people have left and joined ND many times. Look at ready at dawn. It consists many ND veterans. It will come in 2015.

I would say the developers leaving isnt really a sign of the game being postponed or reworked. Staff departures happen for a variety of reasons.

However, the voice actor for the villain leaving is very telling. That is a sign that they are moving away from that story arc, which is a clear sign of the game being reworked. Combined with the departure of amy hennig, it is clear that there were some conflicts with the way the story was developing. Going back and reworking the story means there is pretty much no way the game is coming out this year. 2016 seems to be too far, as they can still use most of the tech and levels they designed, just need to rework some of it to fit a different narrative. Holiday 2015 seems to be the best bet for release.

Delayed? Since when was it announced or expected to be a 2014 game?

Theres a reason why the announcement trailer was pretty much a logo and nothing more. Sony wanted to give one last push as the PS4 launched so they announced it, but I never thought it would arrive before fall 2015.

Uncharted 4 is the perfect holiday PS4 system seller.

Why do we think that the game just started development ?

Uncharted 1 was released in 2007, Uncharted 2 was released in 2009 and Uncharted 3 was released in 2011, that's a 2 year gap in between titles, for all we know Uncharted 4 could have been in development for at least since 2012.

I believe Uncharted 4 is close to finished, hence why everyone is able to leave. All that needs now is polish and finishing touches.

E3 will reveal both gameplay of Uncharted 4 plus a holiday 2014 release.

I was never expecting this game to be released this year. This game is at least one year away.

I have no idea, but all we can do is speculate

But there is still a lot of talent at Naughty Dog. I'm sure the game will turn out great, but the longer we have to wait the more painful it will be

I don't think so. There are hundreds of people working on it and it's not like "key people" can't be replaced. The plans of the game have been laid out for a long time and the game is a good amount into development. I don't think it is impossible for the people that left to be replaced without sacrificing the quality of the product.

But then why did they leave?

I mean there had to be a reason because they all left one after the other, and while yes they will be replaced, if there is a whole new team comming in, don't you think they will want to make it their game , and change it to thier liking?

Just looking at the art department, the head art director is responsable for the entire art direction of the game, so if thier is a new art director comming in, then it is verry possible that U4 will take a completely different art direction, and same think with the new Writer comming in, and the new game director.

Also, all the work they they had done voice acting for the villan (we know he was working on U4 with them for at least 6 months) will have to be redone, and the fact they they are recasting the villan is a sign to me that they DO want to take a completly new direction with U4 than the old team had in mind.

Why did they leave? How about personal reasons? It's a big team, there are bound to be some quarrels. It doesn't even have to do something with the game at all.

The new people will NOT change it to their liking. They will stick to what has been done already because they accept how good these people were at their jobs. They will try to stick as close to the initial plan as possible. Not only is there no reason to change anything but it's actually a risk. The previous games were successful because of their direction so it would be utter stupidity to change anything. Also please consider that the last word and veto is always with the producer and not the director.

Voice acting is just what it is. It's probably the easiest thing to be redone in a game. I don't think they fired him because they don't like his voice. There are so many things that can prompt a person to leave or to be fired. You could even think that his voice acting was already finished before he left.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Head Art Director was there for a year, most likely working on Left Behind DLC. Not even on Uncharted team lmfao.

Also how can a game be delayed when it never even had a release date?

SMH you people are too funny sometimes.

2016 is too late and I believe that they never seriously aimed for a 2014 release date, so I think it'll stay in 2015 where it was always set to release.
