Forums - Gaming - Watch Dogs 2 Would Have Shorter Development Time

Hooray. Cheers for yearly sequel.  -_-  This game looks more and more unappealing to me.

Any Watch Dogs sequel, whether it's Watch Dogs 2 or beyond, would have a significantly reduced development cycle compared to the upcoming first installment.

Though there's yet to be any official word regarding further entries in the franchise, it's likely an inevitability given how much hype and investment surrounds the new title. When quizzed about this by Eurogamer, creative director Jonathan Morin gave a tease about what form it might take.

"Right now there is no such thing as a Watch Dogs 2," he asserted, before explaining, "It's certainly not going to be the same amount of time if we ever embark on such a journey. A big part of it was defining whatever Watch Dogs is. Once you have that starting point, then what becomes interesting is what players want more of - what comes next?

"Especially with the delay we have just been really concentrating on getting it [the original Watch Dogs] launched. After that we'll see where it goes - I think Ubisoft is showing more and more that they're willing to take the time for it to be right.

"I think we're in a pretty good shape. I certainly like the idea of going deeper in the thematics - the hyperconnectivity and hacking in an entire city, controlling a city, monitoring everyone. There's stuff we discovered by making Watch Dogs that are interesting to pursue. But it's up to players. [And] for me right now - it's vacation."

In case you missed it yesterday, we detailed everything we managed to do in our first five hours with the game. We've also rounded up everything we know about the title so far, including the proposed resolutions for the game on various consoles.

Yeah, I'm not trusting that. -.-

I'm pretty sure it's already in production because Every game needs to be at least a trilogy nowadays...

It will be a good game like AC so there's nothing wrong with sequels.

Getting really tired of talking about sequels or a studio's next project before their current one is out or just released. Like...can't we just enjoy what they're making/have made?

They should wait to see if Watch_Dogs will be a flop or not before considering a sequel

Less and less excited every day.

If people buy it it will be a yearly game just like Assassins Creed. Reuse 90% of the previous assets and make a few new features. This is the future of gaming. For the record I have no problems with sequels, but yearly games are usually not that great in the area of advancements.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

Of course not.. they will just be reusing the same codes over and over.. not saying the game won't be good but i believe once you lay down the foundation, future games will be a breeze

Praise the One.

First let's see how well the first game does before talking about the sequel.
