Remember how those NEOGAF "insiders" kept claiming Microsoft moneyhatted the game so that it wouldnt be on a Sony console? Guess what? Like most of the rest of their leaks, it turned out to be complete rubbish. Today Geoff Keighly released his Final Hours of Titanfall. And in it they talk about how Respawn kept going to Sony asking them to get on board with the game and Sony kept refusing. The game almost didn't get made because Respawn ran out of funding. EA wouldn't spend anymore and they needed someone to foot the bill(remember, Respawn is an EA Partner, not an EA studio). Microsoft stepped in and spent the money. They didn't pay to make a finished game an exclusive. They paid to finish a game and in doing so secured an exclusive. Just another one of many huge mistakes made by Cboat, Famousmortimer, Thuway etc etc etc.
Last month Famousmortimer even claimed that he knew for a fact Sony went to Respawn and said, "See, this is how much money you're losing by not bringing this game to PS4." Another load of rubbish since we now know Respawn went to Sony first. Not just once either. Multiple times they went to Sony, and Sony turned them away.
Here's the quote from Famousmortimer that we now know he made up out of thin air or believed the word of one of his fellow fanboys that it was true, but it in fact was a complete fabrication:
Sony also used it's own metrics in a meeting with EA last week and showed them what they would have sold on the ps3 and ps4. The money EA took from MS doesn't even begin to cover it. The EA guys went over the math and agreed. EA is in full "We're so fucking sorry, Sony" mode currently.
The Final Hours is a pay-to-read (well worth it too) in depth article. So I'm not linking to it. You can find it on iTunes and Steam.
