Forums - Microsoft - Phil Spencer: "Bringing more than hype, bringing Games"(for E3)

I'm curious to see what happens. It seems like most of Microsoft's last several E3s have been Kinect focused. Will we see another long demo of Kinect games? I can't believe they'd be that foolish. My guess is that they'll go straight for core gamers with a little TV on the side.

See, that's how much the first Xbox announcement sticks with people. it even affects what we all thought of E3 :P

Its just one of those things you have to look beyond.  Last year Microsoft arguably had the best presentation as far as games goes, but it was overshadowed by the PR, DRM, and pricing of Xbox One.  The whole TV TV TV thing came from about 17 days before E3 where microsoft unvieled the Xbox One on May 21st.  My guess is some people confuses the two with each other since theyre so close to one another.  Others on the other hand has an agenda so its pretty predictable what theyll say.

As for this E3, if MSFT can duplicate what they did last year by focusing on games, improve their PR, and not have bad policies again, they will do great without being overshadowed :)

BUt yes there has been years in the past where Microsoft/Sony/Nintendo does stupid stuff like focusing on Kinect and Wonderbook.  So you always hope they dont do that stuff again.

I didn't say last year, as that was obviously a bit different.  I said "seems like most of their last several".

I'm just curious about when they're going to try and sell the Kinect part of the Xbox One.  Right now, many people see it as a $100 surcharge that they don't really want to pay in order to play games.  Microsoft has failed to make people want Kinect 2.0--though, of course, they've had a lot on their plate trying to recapture the core crowd, so that's not surprising.

Also, many of Microsoft's most memorable E3 moments have been Kinect related so it's not surprising that people think of that first.

Full reveal for Quantum Break with release date announcement would be enough for me ^^

Bring back this bastard, Microsoft!

I notice a lot of people seem to confuse the May reveal with Microsoft's E3 last year. They brought nothing but games to E3 last year and didn't even mention Kinect.

Last e3 they were going to *direct quote incoming* "kill Sony", so please don't blame me if this means nothing more to me than "there'll be a few exclusives".
